If you are in a tribe, do this: build stone dino gates, put them in your inventory, and ask the leader of the tribe to kick you out. Build an arena/circle and pick the andrews with a quetz and drop him in your circle. Now ask your mates to ride him. Not beeing in their tribe, means he will not attack the structures. Quetz is the only one that can pick him. Once the taming is done, get back in your tribe. This way he will not run all the map and you have him protected.

The way to tame a andrewsarchus is put the honey down near the one you want to tame. When the andrewsarchus eats the honey hop on it. Drive it the way the white arrow points. At the bottom of your screen you will see a red bar fill up it’s the rage bar. As soon as the rage bar fills almost to the top hop off and run wait five seconds then repeat.

While taming, ride until the third buck then jump off. This seems to be as long as you can ride without being bucked off and aggroed/stunned.

Also spike walls will reset taming so jump before you hit them if any are in the area.

For ps4 (and prob Xbox) players

You DO NOT have to press L2 and R2 to get to turn! Just use the stick! Act like ur driving normally and the arrows only tell u what way to turn! Didnt see any tips saying this so I thought it would be helpful :)

These things are bugged af, do not put them near any building when trying to tame. Even with full ghillie they’ll decide to aggro the building and will never stop no matter how far away you take them. It’s crossed the entire island to get back to my base.

Bring parachutes, taming these while it runs around cliff edges are dangerous, you get "thrown off" when it tames. -nightwraith

Personally I feel like they should be earlygame tame because you just play a little mini game to tame then witch is so easy

To tame this beast you need 1-2 honey. ITS A MINIGAME. Sneak up with ghillie and toss honey at it. Once it starts the eating animation mount it and it will run wild like an equis. Complete the minigame to tame! (Move left or right if the arrows light up)

How to tame

1. Find Andrewsarchus

2. Put Giant Bee Honey in hotbar; equip Ghillie

3. Crouch walk near it so it doesn't aggro and use the honey

4. When it starts to eat the honey, sprint at it and start riding it

5. When riding, a white arrow will appear. Use A/D or move the left stick left or right on controller and hold it in that direction until it turns red. If you hit the red arrow too much or too long it will kick you off and start attacking you. If that happens, leave aggro range, rinse and repeat.

If you manage to tame it successfully, they are really good tames for movement and they have a saddle with a turret that uses ARB. They also have a donkey kick attack, a speed boost ability and are great swimmers.

When taming bring a flyer cryo it when you get thrown off fly to a low safe cliff to wait to de-agrro. Then just feed and repeat. They will chase you use it.

If you enrage it while trying to tame it, either run or have your armor and all your weapons out

It will aggro you and you can tame it with honey.

You must put the honey in your hotbar and then trow it to the pig and right after that you can mount it and start a minigame and while you do the minigame it gets tamed

Play Fjordur without even thinking of taming these guys, I dare you.

I just found this out recently that you won't get dismounted from a Andrew when you get stung by the jellyfish.

Don't bother roaming around on one in pvp, you will be harpoon netted by ganking bat riders. I was stuck in the cockpit trying to hit the flying bats while they flamethrower my tame. Also the start up gallop is slow and annoying. Use a bowl, bat, griffin, or wyvern to get around. Rest are trash.
