This thing is the exact equivalent of that ‘cool’ girl (who is just a spoiled brat and good for nothing; If you get mad at this tip then it could mean you). Touch her once and then all of the school bullies (Tusos, mosas, plesiosaurs or the entire ocean) comes to beat you up. How do you fight them? A basilosaurus, I swear it works (probably the equivalent of a teacher giving detention to all of them) killing all of them. Trust me, basilo are tanks and good fighters and is not effected by eels or jellyfish. A few will do. Ride on one and the rest odder them to attack the tuso while you attack the mosa and then the plesiosaur then the smaller creatures.

Clear out the area before attacking. If you don't a lot of things will get swarmed. It's better just to take them out 1 by 1.

If you never seen one of these guys or even heard of them then my advice is don’t punch it.

Prepare to fight every living thing in the ocean if you attack it

For Those who are wondering what their bile is for, check the wiki. It's the irreplaceable material for crafting pheromone darts, the dart can be used to attract all wildlife around the target to enrage and attack the target for 30 seconds. Useful in pvp but just about useless in singleplayer. So if you're on singleplayer (like me) there's not much to gain by killing ammonites.

Some things that i don't think anyone has mentioned yet:

1. Ammonite rage attracts not just normal wildlife but alphas as well, and as people have said they will not be restricted by their normal limit in water so Look around before hitting an ammonite, especially if u can't kill it in one hit.

2. As Icthyosaurus have a "invisible" glitch/feature that causes creatures to simply ignore it and it's rider most of the time, even when attacked.(shared by all creatures tamed inside tribute caves. To ensure you do not anger any creature u want to kill hit from behind and wait for the creature to calm down before hitting again if it angers.) It might seem perfectly suited to kill ammonites. Wrong. ammonite rage completely nullifies the invisible glitch when it's active, often resulting in a breathtaking sprint away from furious plesios, mosas, and in one occasion an alpha mosa that nearly managed to kill my icthy. So Unless you just want a quick getaway mount, don't bring an icthy to kill ammonites.

3. Aside from their unique bile, they also drop silica pearls, oil, and rarely black pearls. And they're not as rare as some of the other black pearl dropping creatures. So If u can handle anything the ocean throws at u it might be worth your time to find and kill them for the pearls.

You should probably punch one of its tentacles. The mosa hidden in that dark corner will enjoy your meat.

they are literally the biggest pussies. if you touch them they fart all over you and get eveyone to eat you.

Found everywhere around the map edges. They are quite deep though.

Everything in the area, megalodons, plesiosaurs, mosasaurs, coelacanths, everything under the sea, will hunt you down and kill you because this thing is a coward that can’t fight it’s own battles. But it does give bile.

Clear the area out before you take this dinosaur on

These creatures are passive but when you hit them they release a gas that make whatever creature around you try to kill you

POV: You go down to the ocean, deep-sea diving and get close to an ammonite.

It farts on you, and leaves a smell so bad the creatures around you are irritated and try to get rid of you.

I recommended to use range weapon to make sure you dont get a effect
