King of the Wyverns
Prologue
Ares has been royalty all his life. He was the First Prince of the Lightning Wyvern kingdom. Getting top notch food, the best education, and training from the top-tier hunters was nothing unusual for him. Because of him being spoiled and coddled all his life, though, he became very dependent on others.
Way too dependent.
“Cleo…,” Ares groaned. “Can you get me some food?”
Ares looked to his right where he saw Cleo in the midst of quite a few trees. “I don’t have any,” Cleo said. “Why didn’t you bring any?”
Ares groaned again. “I didn’t think we would get lost out here.” He starts to sniff around for possible prey. “I knew I shouldn’t have followed you out here,” he mumbled.
Cleo sighed. “You know, we could just fly up and look for our way back.”
Ares looked at Cleo. “Why didn’t you say that in the first place?!” He flew up into the sky, Cleo closely following.
“Because,” Cleo said, “You’re too dependent on other people and you know it.”
Ares rolled his eyes.
“I was trying to get you to be independent for once,” Cleo went on. “I thought that you wouldn’t count on me to find our way out.”
“Well,” Ares said, “I’m not dumb or anything. I could find my way out of here alone.” He sticks his chin out defiantly.
Cleo smirked. “Cya, then.” She started to fly off, quickly flapping towards their home.
Ares looked at the retreating Cleo and then started to fly after her. He pulled up beside her and said, “I’ll go with you to make sure you don’t get lost.” He doesn’t meet her eye.
Cleo laughed and playfully rammed into Ares’ side. Ares feigned annoyance. “You cannot push me! I’m the First Prince! Just because we’ve been friends since birth doesn’t mean you are exempt from the rules!”
She laughed, which caused Ares to laugh and start shoving her. They go back and forth like that for a while until they reach The Royal Trench: the home where only Royal Wyverns may live.
Cleo and Ares walked into the room that served as his father’s room. Ares had only had his father as his parent ever since birth; his mother supposedly ran off one day.
“Dad?” Ares called. Empty.
Cleo said, “Let’s check the hatchery. You know he’s been in there a lot lately.”
Ares knew alright. His father had spent a lot of time with Ares’ new little step brother lately. Ares understood that babies need more attention than a 2 year old wyvern like him, but he still wished that he at least listened to Ares’ and Cleo’s daily excursions they went on.
Cleo and Ares started to walk out of his father’s room when they were met by Hiro: Ares’ father’s most trusted servant. Hiro was also the only Fjordhawk serving The King Lightning Wyvern. “Oh, hey Hiro!” Ares says. “Have you seen my dad?”
Hiro nods. Instead of his usual bright smile, though, Ares and Cleo are met by a heavy frown. “Right this way, Ares and Cleo.”
Ares hesitates; Hiro always addresses Ares by Prince. And most of the time he calls Cleo ‘Lady Cleo’, since Cleo was engaged to Ares. Cleo follows Hiro and Ares swiftly trails after them.
Instead of the hatchery like Cleo guessed, they end up in the executioner room. Ares started to freak out. He looks to Cleo and sees that she isn't going crazy, so he tries to calm down. It works until he sees his father- the King of the Lightning Wyverns- chained up.
“Dad!” He cried, trying to rush forward. Two guards held him back. “What’s going on?”
Hiro cleared his throat. “We have recently discovered that your father has secretly married another race of wyvern, which is how you were born. According to our law, this is not legal and must be punished.”
Ares stopped thrashing around. “W-what does that mean?”
Hiro grinned. “Your father and you must die. After all, you are the offspring of a forbidden marriage.” Hiro nodded at a guard, who promptly slashed a talon across Ares’ dad’s neck.
Ares looked on in horror. His father looked at him and whispered, “Run, Ares,” before he died.
I don’t know what to call this series but it’s chapter 2 (chapter one is in desmodus) Let me start by saying that I just started typing these stories and am still trying to improve so if you do have any tips on what the story should be called or how to help me write better thank you and if you don’t that’s fine I don’t have any good tips either so yeah let me start chapter 2…
Nic fell deeper into the cave. Only now did he truly begin to feel the pain on his ankle. As he was falling time seemed to slow down he looked around for a possible way out but there was none. He continued falling trying not cry out in pain from his ankle. He thought about the desmodus and their hideous fangs all charging toward him and he swore if he had to come back from the dead just to get revenge the would.
Nic managed to land in water. He probably did the most painful belly flop ever that did not result in death. His brain began thinking at light speed he knew he couldn’t swim and he may be able limp but it would hurt a lot. He couldn’t climb the rocks were too wet. He couldn’t do anything. He was helpless flailing his arms around in the water. Water began to enter his lungs. At that moment a sarco charged him.
It must have expected him to swim up because it went over him and he grabbed its tail it pulled him ashore. That was when he realized how weak he truly was. The sarco’s tail slipped out of his hands. He laid on the ground coughing up water. The sarco turned and glanced at him. It took one step toward him when a man in a scuba suit jumped out the water and shot it in the eye with a harpoon gun. Nic was still too weak to move but he would have ran if he didn’t have an injured ankle and of course if he could figure out how to stand up.
The man in the scuba suit walked over to Nic and held out a jar with red liquid, “Here drink this. It will help you.” He said.
“Why should I trust you.” Nic croaked
“Didn’t I just shoot a sarco in the face to save you!”
Nic was too tired to argue. He drank the red liquid and his ankle hurt less and he could actually sit up now.
“Can I have another?” Nic asked.
“Sorry that’s the only one I had left. Those araneo were a real pain.” The man replied. “So what’s your name?”
“My name’s Nic.”
“How did you get down here?”
“I fell.”
“Care to elaborate.”
“Not really.”
“Ok well you better tell me what happens when we get to my house if they haven’t found me yet.”
“If who hasn’t found you yet?” Nic asked.
“I’ll explain later. You have a lot to learn.”
Part three will probably be in araneo.

Toxic Tales: Chapter 2
"Moon-high"
The orange wyvern called the two ever, saying that he didn't have much time. Achelois reluctantly followed Elpis over to the fire wyvern.
"We have to be quick, I don't have much time. I don't know what they're telling you, but not everyone out here wants to wipe you out, we just wanted peace but your Queen turned down the peace offering and captured the messenger. We all want peace, even the citizens of the swamp want it. Your Queen started a war and is a tyrannical ruler, everywhere else adolescents pick their role, and they aren't assigned one. Everywhere else no one disappears in the night because they disagree with the Queen. Everywhere else no one's fed to bugs for rebelling. You have to get out, I'd you don't you're done for. Leave tonight at moon-high and avoid patrols, if you do find the others, most of us have given up on freeing the poison wyverns, but we still exist. You'll know when you find the others." He pulled a strange-looking stone out of a pouch slung over his neck and gave it to Achelois. The stone was thin, black, and made up of small hexagons. The stone began glowing and hummed softly.
"What's happening?" She asked the wyvern. He took the stone and put it up to the base of her neck. It hummed louder and glowed brighter until it suddenly stopped.
"What in the world?" Elpis exclaimed. Achelois could just see the glint of the stone on her neck.
"How did you do that?" Achelois questioned.
"I'm not sure how it works, but it told me to find you and I did. Now leave you've been here too long finish what you're doing and leave at moon-high." He said, "Now go! A patrol will find us soon, everything you need to do will become clear."
"But we have questions!" Elpis called.
"It's too late, they coming!"
Elpis and Achelois flew away from him, Achelois pushed her bag in front of the stone, she didn't want anyone to find it.
"Did you understand any of that?" Elpis asked.
"Just that we leave at moon-high," Achelois responded.
"We don't have much longer to hunt, let's get that paraceratherium." Elpis said, "We'll discuss this at your cave tonight."
After they returned with the paraceratherium they were given their score and sent to the ceremony.
Once they arrived Elpis's mother was in the back but Achelois"s father wasn't, she wasn't surprised though, he said she looked too much like her mother for him to talk to her. At first, she was upset, but she didn't care anymore, he didn't care, so why should she?
The Queen sat on top of a massive rock and began to list names and assignments. "Elpis got..." Achelois"s heart raced, she hoped Elpis would get something good but had doubts. "... nothing, we have our first disappointment today." The Queen laughed after saying it, it made Achelois"s blood boil. "Achelois got... soldier!" Her heart dropped. "...and you in the 37th group, that means you'll have to be on the battlefield itself in just one moon." Achelois didn't know what to do, she wouldn't survive out on the battlefield. She turned to Elpis and said, "Tonight at moon-high we're leaving, we'll find the others and find out what this stone means."
"It's not like I have a future here, I'm in," Elpis responded.

The Cave of Secrets Chapter 2:
Thank you so much if you are still here and like the story! It means a lot to me, even if you don't up or leave feedback!
"Wake up Dusk," A voice whispered. "Danger is coming." Dusk jerked his eyes open and looked around quickly for places to run or hide. He was next to a small river. Behind him, stone cliffs blocked off any escape. Across the river, there was a small forest. Dusk knew there was danger somewhere, yet where and what would it be. Something hissed loudly. Dusk ran into the forest, surprised from the hiss. Moments after he ran into the forest, a massive spino lumbered into the river. It hissed loudly then ducked down to grab a fish. It lifted up the fish and swallowed it whole. "You don't belong here, you filthy surface Raptor." A Raptor hissed, shoving him out of the forest. Dusk froze after being shoved out. The spino stared into his eyes and said, "You will make quite a fine meal, Raptor is a rare treat that I will get to have."
