Tips & Strategies

What are tips for allosaurus? Tips and strategies for allosaurus in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
Facts on the allosaurus:
Appearance: a medium-large sized carnivore, the allosaur has bony scutes all over its body. It has a slim shape, and long legs, allowing it to run at high speeds.
Also possessing two horny protrusions over its eyes, as well as having a long head, armed with large, sharp teeth. Do not confuse with the Rex, which is about two thirds bigger, and much slower.
Behavior: the allosaurus is a highly aggressive carnivore. One allo is a ferocious enemy, but their true strength lies in the pack buff, which happens when there is more than one allo: the higher level of the two will gain a damage buff, damage resistance, and two new abilities, consisting of a bleed attack, and a roar. A pack of allos will destroy anything. The bleed attack of the alpha allo does 5% damage overtime, which means that any enemy will die from at least twenty hits from a bleed attack.
Utility: the allo is no doubt a very useful tame. It’s easy to dump them for a much larger and more powerful Rex or spino, or a smaller, comparable carno, but every Dino has its uses. The allosaurus has the status of a large carnivore, so will thus be ignored by smaller, usually aggressive creatures unless the allo attacks first.
The allo is very fast, looks intimidating, and has a ferocious, rapid fire bite speed. Put it in a pack, and you have a well oiled killing machine. The only downside is that their stamina consumption when sprinting is really quite low, and takes a considerable time to regain.
Dangers: the allosaurus is very dangerous. Survivors without high movement speed or a very powerful weapon cannot fight or run away from one allo, even. God forbid more than one. One danger of the allo bleed attack is that it slows you down considerably, and also drains health by five percent over a few seconds. A very powerful, fast tame is recommended for fighting these. My go to is a powerful spino when fighting a pack, as a spino has equally fast damage output, extreme knockback, and can easily run away if the fight goes wrong.
Note: the allos bleed attack is based off of the real dino. The skull of the allosaurus possessed a thin palate, and long sharp teeth, which led paleontologists to believe that the allosaurus slashed and hacked with its teeth in order to bleed out and weaken the prey to make it easier to kill.
Hope you all enjoyed! L&P, out.
Don’t agro this unless you plan to tame it while on a mount of you have a trap for it because these things chase you and will track you like the terminator until you get out of render
Don't look back and run
They may have bad stam but, they have high attack speed and damage. Plus they get good stam boosts from leveling and nothing aggro’s onto them except therizenos rexs spinos and other allos
guys dont head on in and just knock them out using tranq darts they have a damage reduction buff and the gnash ability meaning if you are hit by the alpha you die and lose your tranqs and other stuff
These guys usually travel in packs near the mountains, so if you find one, good luck escaping, these guys catch up to you always. Unless you have a bird or a very quick tame, you’re toast.
Trap idea: Put a 2by2 stone trap, put a bear trap in the middle, Lure it in, Close it off, Then it’s yours!, And my second idea, Make a 2by2 stone foundation, Place 2-3 high stone pillars, smack the bear trap down, Close it in, Then you’re free to kill it for meat, or tame it.
For people on single player and mobile single player if you close the game it will disappear even when knocked out happened to a max level for me =( this for yall to help everyone
By shuttle the turtle yt
So I’m level 15 on mobile, no big deal, new player. So I’m exploring by a cliff in the easy area. There is a chalicotherium I can see in the far distance. I then see a phioma launch itself off of the cliff and into the ocean below. Not two seconds later do 3 of these burst over the ridge and hammer themselves into the ocean, one by one, chasing the phioma. R.I.P that phioma, but it saved my life 5 minutes ago.
5 stars rating best one good job
Get a friend (or on single player get two people playing)
tame it from above with an argentavis its easy.
I live near a good place for them to spawn, and the buggers only spawned in once. If you find one, it probably will take below 60 arrows.
Allosaurus can't be picked up by a quetzal in mobile
These are soooo much fun, my brother has one and they like kill everything in they're path
easy way to tame is to get a tapejara and kite them to a cliff u can then latch onto the cliff and knock it out
These are always in a pack. So try seperating them and get the highest lvl one when u try to tame them
If you are planning on taming a full pack but dont want to or cant tame an entire pack in one spot then i suggest you kill the lower level allo’s then tame the alpha of the pack and then just rinse and repeat 2 more times and you have a full pack
One of these guys went in my base like it was there’s and killed all my tames.. great
