Tips & Strategies

What are tips for silver coloring? Tips and strategies for silver coloring in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
I might write a story but i dont know
I won’t yell at you Snek, I actually kinda agree with you on some parts of that post.

someone keeps disliking all my righteous fan fics :) thats fine.. i guess.
Been running missions on Genesis 2 and tbh they are quite a step up from Genesis 1 missions, cause of the world buffs and how they’re actually connected to the storyline. Survive the Ark mission actually gives you an increased taming speed buff. Used it to tame up a high level R-Giga real easy.

I’m pretty sure they might have, but they also might not have. I’m pretty sure it was speculation, now thinking about it. But I’ve heard it’s a very polished map and has potential to be confirmed.

CAN WE JUST GET A NEW ARK SERVER ALREADY? -LAVA
Wait, lamprey, they confirmed another unofficial map?

DLC idea number 3
Olympus
This is a large island with multiple major regions, the Central Jungle in the centre of the island, large fields on the east and west sides. There are two main regions in the north of the island, the jagged cliffs, similar to the white cliffs of Valguero, and the Frozen mountain, a large mountain with an Ice Wyvern Trench next to it. At the south of the island are another two regions, the tundra and the ice desert. The ice desert is full of creatures from The Frozen Lands and ice regions from other maps. In the centre of the Central Jungle is a collection of three volcanoes, the most dangerous parts of the map. Between the three volcanoes is another Wyvern trench, containing the fire wyverns, plasma wyverns and shadow wyverns.
Olympus contains only one new creature, a smaller, weaker, rideable version of the manticore boss from Scorched Earth, only found in the Jagged Cliffs. As well as a new creature variation, the fire bear, like a dire bear, but with a patterning that makes it looks like it’s made out of magma. It also has boosted stats nearly double the base stats of a normal dire bear, making it really powerful. Unfortunately it can’t be tamed. Olympus has three minor boss fights leading up to the final boss. The first of these bosses is the Frostmonger, like the ice giga from The Frozen Lands, but larger, has a very powerful ice breath and much higher stats. The second boss is the firestalker, like the giant froststalker creature from The Frozen Lands, but larger, red, and has the ability to summon smaller versions of itself to attack players. The third boss fight is in a dark cave against two deadly creatures, The Nighthunters. The first Nighthunter is a large black wolf with yellow eyes, while the second is a black sabertooth with yellow eyes. Both of these creatures are the size of allos and have high stats, and the fact that they blend into the surroundings makes them hard to fight. The final boss is against another two creatures, The Ice King from The Frozen Lands, and a new creature, the Wyvern Titan, a hybrid of a fire Wyvern, a poison Wyvern and a lightning wyvern. This fight is really hard and you need lots of powerful creatures to fight it.

Lava, just ignore people downvoting posts, that’s what I try to do.

I’ve started coming up with ideas for DLCs that will probably never exist unless I become a modder later on in my life, or if one of my friends does, just tell me if you want to know any of my ideas.
-Apex
Wait so do you start off with a federation tek suit thingy or do you have to get it somewhere?
-Apex
Swamp, I don’t know how to steer it on pc, but you can steer it on console (I’m on singleplayer) but it’s annoying, and I hate doing the missions because of how annoying it is. But basically this is how I started out:
First I explored most of the biomes, skipping maewing. About 2 hours in, I decided to go for a shadowmane. I got one fish basket, and used it on a low level to see if it needed more than one, and to figure out the mechanics on taming it. I eventually got a 130 shadowmane, and those things are beasts. I spent way to long searching for a decent level that was in a small pack, or even alone. The Rockwell even teased me by showing a max level, 150 then it followed a tappy in to the water where it couldn’t get out, and I just had my federation armour, spyglass, and fish baskets. Rockwell’s innards isn’t scary, the devs want you to be scared of it, but I went in there with just my federation armour, only one death because I didn’t understand how to escape the macrophage, and I got out with a mutagen. Also look at a trap for the reaper Queen if you want a reaper king, and bring something like a shadowmane and a light pet, very easy to get the reaper king, unlike aberration where it’s in the radiation zone. My current opinion on the map: very good map, the federation tek suit needs a nerf, it makes progression go as fast as if you got a good start on scorched earth and managed to get a wyvern day 2 somehow and the federation chest plate and leggings make traveling quick, so flyers are kinda useless because you can fly while encumbered, along with moving around quickly while in the air. Also the voidwyrm is basically a tek wyvern, it’s only used the breath and bite attack on me, and if your wondering how to tame, from what I’ve heard you have to get very low until it does a special animation, where you have to ride it and feed it in a small time frame when it barrel rolls, or you get dismounted. It’s tamed with mutagen, astrodelphis is tamed with element, and yes space dolphin is aggressive, so you have to pet it and then feed it element for it to be a good boi.

More Gen 2 tips:
I’ve only really found shadowmanes in the south of Rockwell’s garden, so watch out there.
THERE ARE BLOODSTALKERS!!! (South Rockwell’s garden, not sure what they latch onto, maybe the big flowers things.) I learned this the hard way.
WATCH OUT FOR PURLOVIAS!!!! They ARE in the Eden Biome (again, learned this the hard way)
When a Carniflora grabs you, it gives you torpor, so you will KO and fall out of it. When you wake up, you have enough time to run away.
When you grab Mutagen from the glowing plants in Rockwell’s innards, a swarm of mini-summoner things called a Macrophage will come out and attack you. They’re kind of like insect swarms just worse. Multiple Summoners will also come at you. I almost died for one piece of Mutagen, it better be worth it.
According to the wiki, you can find Feroxes on some Eden Zone beaches??? Ferox spawns are messed up for me, they weren’t spawning for me on Genesis 1, so I can’t confirm that.
The Eden Zone may seem safe, but there are R-Daeodons, R-Direwolves, regular direwolves, direbears, etc. I’d suggest that until you have a good mount, keep yourself in the air with your Tek suit.
FEDERATION TEK SUITS DO NOT NEED ELEMENT TO RUN!!! This is game changing because as soon as you start out, you can fly around and swim around very quickly. Unfortunately, the base Tek you start out with only gives 20 armor a piece, at least for me.
Shadowmanes do not need saddles and come with natural armor. Unlike some other creatures, for example trikes which just take less damage from certain areas, the Shadowmane comes with a piece called Shadowmane Natural Armor automatically in its saddle slot once tamed. This cannot be taken off. I got a Shadowmane with ramshackle natural armor??? That gives 121 armor, pretty epic.
I still haven’t tried the minigun yet, but the Tek Bow is amazing! It’s ammo is element shards, and it basically transforms those into arrows about the power of metal arrows! The arrow flies like a bullet and does more damage if you pull it back farther.
HOVERSAIL!!! This thing is epic. I don’t know the controls on console, since I play Pc. But, it skims right over the ground and water. It’s very fast, you can hold down the button you would to run to make it go faster. You can immediately change directions with the press of a button, or pivot completely. You can make it jump, or a quick boosted jump. While in the air, you can do flips and trick!!
Shadowmanes have a dash attack, where you can target multiple opponents and dash trough them instantly, dealing damage and stunning them for a few.
That’s about it for now!!
Swamp
Haven’t done much in Genesis 2 yet, since I’ve only played it once. However, I started building a Tek base in the Eden Zone, and tamed a Maewing and a breeding pair of decent-level shadowmanes. I swear. This map is SO good. There’s even a hidden ocean biome!!! If you want to get to the ocean, check out the weird tank thing in the lake (hopefully you know what I’m talking about.) At the bottom of it in the lake, there’s a tunnel into this awesome ocean biome.
A few other tips:
WATCH OUT FOR THE SOUTHERN ROCKWELL’S GARDEN!!! There are a lot of bugs there, including bloodstalkers, and shadowmanes spawn a lot there.
Tame a Maewing first thing!!! The saddle unlocks at level 19, they’re easy to tame, and incredibly good at traversing the map.

Watched the gen 2 gameplay trailer, makes me very excited for the DLC, and those missions are definitely connected to the story. I wonder if you can actually use bosses from the previous maps, because in the gameplay trailer, a survivor was riding the dragon, and there was the broodmother and Megapithecus on the ground. That’s probably in the boss arena, but I can’t wait. Now just for the 58 GB to install... (it’s at 35%)
-Lamprey
Ummm Lamprey, go to Brick Dye, someone’s said something about you.
-Apex
Just so everyone knows, I’m probably going to thoroughly explore all the biomes, then write a guide to the biome in specific creatures. For eden zone, Mae wing or Stryder. Space is for astrodelphis or voidwyrm, Rockwell’s innards in noglin (people say it’s in Rockwell’s garden, but it was shown in Rockwell’s innards) and then shadow mane for Rockwell’s garden. Probably where they will be, so expect those to be there eventually.
-Lamprey
Well, there goes any use for my 337% damage ascendant longneck rifle now that we have a Tek bow.
Swamp
Just saw this, but apparently if you go to the wiki, then to genesis part 2, something called “Plant species R” appears. When you click it, it shows the tentacle from the federation crop plot reveal, basically confirming that it is a plant species.
-Lamprey
There won’t be every creature from all maps on gen 2 (probably wyvern and Phoenix, we gonna have voidwyrm) but there will be a LOT of creatures, which the devs confirmed.
