Use bug repellent when harvesting wild hives, or use a Dire Bear to gather honey safely and often more efficiently. On some maps, honey can be mined from hive-covered rocks or cave nodes, with a hatchet or Ankylosaurus being useful tools. Tamed hives produce honey from Rare Flowers over time, and leaving it inside the hive helps prevent spoilage. Honey is useful for fishing and luring creatures, but store it carefully because many dinosaurs will eat it from their inventory.
