Breed ovis with high health, (the higher the better) raise with full imprint, level everything into health (I like to put it in a cryopod for a few days to get a lot of levels) and get about a cryofridge full. Then chainsaw (highest melee chainsaw possible) all of them with as many points into melee on your survivor plus enduro stew (for extra melee.) Repeat with several cryofridges of Ovis and you can get several million pelt this way. Easy peasy.

Tip: there is area where tons of beavers spawn but also a ton of sarcos to the south once you get a flyer go to the big tree area and kill the bears they give so much more pelt but there are terror birds,trearninoziers, and t rexes

What is the best way to give belt

Low level thylo with a little bit on melee with collect around 200 from wolly rhinos. I get 250 on a 1 times server

Kill animals and destroy them with the ASCENDANT chainsaw

Early game go to rag and kill sheep use hatchet

Get a rex or yuty then go hunt for wolfs or rhinos. Or go kill beavers with a raptor.

if your want to get more pelt with melee level up your damage.

If you have an argy go to the arctic and kill mammoths watch out for gigas

Use the therizino peck attack on a dead yuty you get so much, only seems to work with the yuty aswell but they’re not that rare.

Surprisingly, if you scroll down, tapejaras are more effective at gathering pelt than argies

My fur dilemma. I go to the arctic for oil and crystal but every time almost die of cold. Can’t get winter gear because nothing near me gives fur. And the mammoths are too close to Rex’s, wolves, and bears

Get yourself a direwolf. I dont know why metal hatchet is rated highest for gathering. Direwolf absolutely destroys for pelt. Gathered 4k pelt in +- 10 minutes. Have 2 ascendant armour pieces already. Target rhinos mainly.
