Pretty sure in ark mobile (though it could work on regular ark) u can kill basilosaurus for hundreds of oil though beware of 🇺🇸🇺🇸🦅🦅

if you can’t find a critter that drops oil, i found quite a lot of oil rocks in the northern region (mobile, island map), around the shore. be weary of wolves and argies. rexes too, but typically they’re preoccupied with mammoths or rhinos. hope this helped!

Everyone needs oil for late-mid-game, so make yourself some fur armor and go to the snowy areas, there is usually alot of oil rocks on the beaches. Use a metal pickaxe to harvest oil.

I think basliosaur actually drop oil naturally if you take it, not sure tough.

On some maps I tend to use oil rocks, they look like normal rocks with a black on the tops they can be small or extremely large. I’m going to hide from America now, there’s some black vans outside of my house.

tame a sarco

put some lvls into melee

find a basilio

kill it

they drop tons of oil and you can usually kill it fast with the sarco

tame 2 squids or 6 basilos, boom, thats enough oil per cycle to get a stack of gasoline

You can find oil nodes in the water or you can find a lot in an cold biome, if you have a cryopoded anky and an argentavis you can get a massive amount, just make sure you have some medical brews, otter, fur armor or something else that keeps you warm. I almost died because I only had a fur chest piece, scuba leggings and chitin hat, gloves, and boots and forgot to have medical brews on me.

In the south west part of herbibore island there's a lot of trilobites, you can go down there with a spino and you will get chitin, oil, and pearls, is not the most efficent way but is the safest

Mining drill and a good wyvern is my favorite way the shiny black rocks along north coast and on icebergs on the island will yeald decent amount of oil and quickly much better then swimming to bottom of ocean

Tame a basilsaurus just leave it and it will produce oil

Kill weak basilos they drop a lot tame strong basilos they produce on passive(on mobile kill one and harvest wish something strong, exemple: the quest gufuted sword will harvest from 150-190 per wale

you can bring your anky to the arctic biome on about 10,50

And there are some oil rocks there gives you a lot of oil

Kill Tech Dino’s for it it helps if you have no oil around you

basilosaurus once tamed will produce oil

You will get enough of this from oily rocks inside the ocean,get yourself a itchy and dive down and be careful about daddy megaladon

If you want loads of oil then go to herbivore island on an Ichthyosaurus and kill the Basilosaurus the creatures protecting won’t attack you even if you hit them if they do attack it’ll only be for a but then they’ll stop. Each Basilosaurus drops around 200 oil on mobile. Not sure if it would work on Pc or console but you may try it.

Go to lat 14 long 44 in island and look for oil rocks [black shinning rock]

There will be lot!

Sea grass rocks give oil watch out for Megalodon and bassoSauris

There’s a bunch a black gloss rocks in the Arctic area, and those contain loads of oil. I recommend anky.
