Tips & Strategies

What are tips for therizinosaurus? Tips and strategies for therizinosaurus in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
Therizinosaurs, or tickle chicken, is very territorial and does lots of damage.
A good strategy is to stand on top of a very steep rock or a small cliff and start shooting. Make sure that it's steep enough so that the therizino won't climb over it.
Another strategy is to lure him into a 2x2x2 trap. Make sure that it's made out of stone, or metal if you can afford it.
When it's down, feed him berries or crops. Make sure to bring hundreds of narcotics, because the therizino's torpor drops quickly.
Once tamed, you probably don't have to worry about him dying, as it's power rivals theropods like the rex or the spinosaur.
How to survive a Therizino encounter
1. Don’t encounter it in the first place.
Just don't even go near it, it will hunt you down and fondle your family.
How to tame a therizinosaurus:
First, you will need to get crossbow with tranq arrows or longneck rifle with tranq darts. Second, taming food: exceptional kibble(best), crops and mejoberries are fine.
Third, you will need to trap it to tame it, because it is fast and dangerous. (Lure it with argentavis!)
Tranquilize it and put food and keep it asleep with naroctics and it will be tamed!
Can someone help me I am a beginner to the game and have one of these wandering in the direction of my base, I don’t have access to bear traps or metal bolas. What do I do?
You can't bola them, learned that the hard way
Bring as much narcotics as you will need them because the torpor on the theri drains much faster than any other dino
Just make a 4x4 trap and you should be good but once unconscious it will wake up fast so be sure to bring extra narcotics
Oh yes tickle chicken make armour go away
Avoid them if you are not confident you can kill or subdue them. Despite being Herbivores they will not hesitate to use those large claws to slice you into ribbons before wandering off. These "Tickle Chickens" are certainly a threat to newcomers, and even more experienced survivors who find themselves unfortunate enough to have drawn the ire of a Therizinisaurus. I have no advice on how to fight one, only that you should avoid them.
Me when I encounter it for the first time: wat Dat?
Me now: OH SHI-
Tip for beginners: a wolf in sheep's clothing
Looks cute but it will murder you, your friends, your dinosaurs and your whole server similar to Freddy from Nightmare on Elm street his victims in their dreams...
Stay safe, good luck survivor ;)
The tickle chicken, a fearsome terror of the beaches. This horrifying creature’s diet consists of berries and probably your nightmares. If you encounter this loathsome monster in the wild then you should run as fast as possible in the opposite direction. If it attempts to tickle you try to lose it in a dense forest. If you do not have access to any dense forests then try outrunning any friends you may have with you, as it stops to rip them apart you can easily get out of sight. If you do not have any friends or forests with you, try to convince it to jump off a cliff. This is possible do to the fact that the tickle chicken will always run in a straight line towards you, however this may not work in Ark 2 do to likely AI improvements.
This is from my experience in playing hardcore.
1. This fella can really navigate rough terrain. I was surprised that it even made it up a quite steep cliff. If u want to snipe it from atop, make sure ur standing spot's steepness is at least almost 90 degrees between the lower part of ur 'platform' and the ground. Any lesser will ensure this thing coming up for the kill. I survived but my level 51 Tapejara din't. He saved my life. 😭
2. Sometimes when u r tranquilizing it, all of a sudden it will appear like running away. But, don't be fooled. It does this to lure you down. Happened many times. If it really ran for more than 7 secs away from u, then it is really escaping due to the rising sleepiness. It has a high amount of torpor resist. So, don't expect an earlier catch. Usually takes me at least 10 arrows with a crossbow to attain a result.
3. I realized that Spinos are the best dinos to counter these tyrants due to their buff and knockbacks. If u manage to tame 1, should be no problem if u bump into these terror chicks. Their agro range is very short.
Hope this helps.
To tame a high level therizinosaurus you just need 600 to 900 narcotics to keep it asleep and about 5
0 to 100 with tranq arrows and I personally just stand on a tall rock or a hill cuase I'm too lazy to build a trap and some mejoberrys or exceptional kibble which is faster but I'm not that rich and there you go your own therizino, by the way you need to be level 69 to get the saddle hope this helps and tickle chicken is a pretty good name and it has a tickle attack.
1.I would probably recommend tranquilizer darts and lots low or high
2. Either build a stone/metal trap or go stand on a high rock it cannot reach or climb
3. Make sure you have crops and bio toxin or narcotics (more than 100)
4. Shoot it with your tranquilizer darts
5. When it runs run after it shooting it
6. When unconscious feed it your crops
7. Stay near it because it torpor drops really fast
8.wait
9. Congratulations! You have a tickle chicken :)
10. Up if helpful to you if not just read it pls :)
These guys are ruthless. They literally will not stop attacking yut and your Dino's. They are very powerful and annoying for most start- mid players.
Personally, I put this thing between Rex and spino on the danger level for new survivors. Rexes have a big aggro range, but they’re slow, and you can get away if you book it. Spinos have a much smaller aggro range, but you can run from em, and they’ll rip your inexperienced butt apart. Theris are the worst because you can get pretty close… close enough to think they won’t attack you…
WRONG.
They will attack you viciously, and since they’re not carnivores, they won’t stop attacking you unless something attacks it and gets closer than you are.
Personally, I challenged one with my raptor, and it killed my raptor and almost me. But guess what? A frickin Rex was frickin attacking the whole frickin time. It only ignored me once it killed my raptor.😭
This was early game. Now I have theris, and they are BRILLIANT gatherers. If you can tame one, tame it. They’re as strong as a rex but they can gather wood, thatch, berries and fiber, along with meat and hide. Plus, you get the saddle five levels earlier.
I’m trying to figure out if they do torpor too, because the edge of the screen turns pinkish purple when they hit me… maybe I’m the only one.
Anyway, good luck everyone!
A fellow survivor.
