Tip for starters of they encounter one :
Step no 1 : never try to put run them they are faster then a raptor
Step no 2 : never use bola on them bc it's not gonna effect them and it's obviously gonna slaughter you
Step no 3 : if you see one lurking outside ur base run and hide immediately bc they can easily destroy thatch and wooden structures

You do not find tickle chicken. Tickle chicken finds you.
Be aware the dodo was 5 years in the gym if you want to tame it be sure to have tranq arrows and a stone house it's headbut does 3% damage to stone structures
Kill all of them. I left my Argy (Balerion) alone for one second to collect berries. When I returned Balerion was killed by one of these shit.
One kill= one pray for Balerion. He was the best
These things deal torpor; I learned the hard way. If pvp is on they can hit you even when you're riding something... I died three times trying to kill a lvl 190 bc it kept killing me instead of my 25000 health mosachops... Wish me luck, Imma tame one π

First encounter with murder chicken after i lost my two primary mounts (equues & pteranodon) to the murdur forest...
Ooh what a nice looking chicken that spawned near my base , i bet it makes a good mount lets check its stats like a noob from up close...

Which lit an intense ember inside me. (I want this b*tch even more)
10 deaths later and i got a murder chicken mount!

A level 10 did 4000 damage to our level 137 Giga, and almost killed a level 200+ Argie. Be very very careful with these guys.
Please man, if you are new to the game, and see one of these, TURN 180 DEGREES AROUND, AND RUN FOR YOUR LIFE.

Yeah, that's what I thought too. That's how I lost my lvl 28 Dilo Phospho, lvl 27 Dilo Sauro, two lvl 6 dilos (yes I am a Dilo addict- why do you ask?), AND lvl 6 Raptor Resilience- along with several dino eggs I was about to use to tame the darn thing. Those were all my first tames, by the way. (R.I.P to them- rest their souls, likely still haunting me to this day for my stupidity. I deserve it :D)
Trust me, YOU CAN NOT DEFEAT A THERIZINOSAURUS WITH ANY MELEE WEAPONS WITHOUT DECENT ARMOR!
Oh. And bolas don't work on them either. As if the LITERAL DAGGER HANDS WEREN'T ENOUGH.
If you see one of these early game, DO NOT ENGAGE. It's not worth it, and it will cause heartbreak seeing your tames die to these Edward Scissorhand spawns from the pits of Tartarus.
If you must tame one, please use a trap or load em up with tranq arrows from a VERY GENEROUS DISTANCE. They don't look it, but these things are SPEED. If it starts running at you, either pray to a god of your choice, or get on your mount and start running like your life depends on it- because it very well does.
Overall, if you don't have an Army of Trikes and Raptors to back you up or a getaway flier, I do not recommend confrontating one of these things. They are deadly- if the samurai sword fingers don't scream death and doom, I don't know what to tell you.
