Tips & Strategies

DON'T SPAWN A NEW SURVIVOR/BUILD YOUR FIRST BASE ON SOUTH BEACH 3. If you see one of these, RUN. Serpentine between and behind rocks and structures to get out of its line of sight, these things run FAST. They spawn directly north of South Beach 3 in the forest, up the hill. I made this mistake repeatedly on my first save in hard mode and had to start over, kited it to my base from lack of hiding places to weave through... couldn't stay alive long enough to build a second thatch hut or put an extra sleeping bag down. Got spawn camped and never attacked it but people aren't joking when they say these stupid things are territorial as hell. And they easily wander onto the beach. Had tames in the base and Theri was aggroed after I died so it killed all my tames and destroyed my storage area in the process. Don't be stubborn like I was. Move and start over.
Additionally for South Beach 3 raptors become a huge issue since you're directly next to a forest biome spawn area. Spawn or stay at South Beach 2 near the sand bank and worst you'll deal with is Dilophosaurs on the coast stalking Dodos which can be taken down with bolas, clubbed and fed as quick guard pets; plenty of rocks to climb to have high ground as well and flat area for easy base expansion. Don't wander too far into the surrounding forest without building alternate camps *WITH BEDS AND EXTRA WALL LAYERS during the "South of the Island" Pursuit or you could meet Kruger Chicken (Theri) again, or rarely but potentially, you could meet face to face with a hungry Spino near the river by the cave. Build a lot of hiding places to weave through to get out of its line of sight if you get chased.
Wait until you're much stronger, better equipped and well off enough to even attempt to tame one - and no, you can not club them, you need basic technology, don't be a caveman. They eat berries despite stabbing you to death (I thought it was a carnivore at first), you'll need stacks of them. Use tranq arrows, stone tier walls or higher for trapping, a good high ground to shoot tranqs, and a tonne of narcotics/bio toxins or you will be impaled by a very unhappy Edward Scissorhand. They're very useful as tames once you get enough resources to kidnap one from the wild.

If you see this thing it will kill you, your friends, your family, some guy down in Africa, and an alien on another planet.
You do not find tickle chicken. Tickle chicken finds you.
Hug the chicken
Trust me just hug it
A level 10 did 4000 damage to our level 137 Giga, and almost killed a level 200+ Argie. Be very very careful with these guys.
Anyone who is saying to run from these clearly doesnβt understand how fast they are.
Do not come close, because we're not passive.
When you get too close, we become aggressive.
We can kill hundreds of things that's in our way, all just in one day.

Kill all of them. I left my Argy (Balerion) alone for one second to collect berries. When I returned Balerion was killed by one of these shit.
One kill= one pray for Balerion. He was the best
These guys appear at the wrong place at the wrong time ALWAYS and I hate it
I was just casually looking for a high level male Rex to breed with my high level female Rex when suddenly I saw one of these guys, a level 140 female theri so I decided to go back to base to make a trap and prepare next day i go back.. and itβs gone replaced by a level 90 male not far where I found the 140β¦ am I the only one who this happens to?
First time I met the tickle chicken.. it was terrifying.
So, I didnβt know they were hostile, and was like β what the hell is that??β And went up to it, it hissed and me and started using its large tickle claws and chased me. I survived.. I swam through water, and climbed a rock.
