Origins of Salizar, Chapter 20: ~hostile takeover~
“I have to say, your scales are much more comfortable than I expected.” Salizar said atop the massive back of Apex. “Thank you father, the sky rock is just ahead.” Apex said. “Land ho.” Salizar said.
Darkhide angrily scuttled through the base, searching for signs of life, “stpd Emrld, darn Talus..” he mumbled, getting Terrace’s name wrong yet again. He was sick of searching, there was obviously nobody there and he hadn’t heard any roars, it was time to head back and hopefully collect his reward. But then he heard it, the roar, followed by a huge crash and the sound off falling shingles. “What the-” he turned around to the castle to see the mighty Apex, perched atop Fort Olympia, the structure crumbling under his weight. He stared wide-eyed at the massive dragon for a moment, then he ran for the caves, unfortunately for him Salizar saw him, “There! It’s a.. hmm I don’t know actually.” He said. Apex flew off of the castle which made the roof fall in as he did, and kept soared down to intercept Darkhide. Darkhide looked back at the dragon quickly outpacing him, he squealed a bit before getting caught under a massive talon. ‘Oh no this is it.. they were right about the surface!’ He thought, his head under his claws and eyes shut. “You, what are you..” a voice said in-front of him. He opened his eyes to see a mesopithicus wearing a cloak, satchel lined with throwing knives, and a skull mask. “Better question who are you?! And WHAT IS THAT!?!” He said as Apex’s head lowered to see him. “Nevermind who we are, tell me who you are or he’ll turn you into a rather pungent puddle.” Salizar said. Darkhide’s eyes widened at the thought, “I’m- uh Darkhide..” He said. “And what is Darkhide?” Salizar said. “I’m a rockdrake.” He said. “Impossible, rockdrakes are feathered and never leave their caves.” Salizar said, “squish the ‘Rockdrake’ Apex.” He said. “Yes father.” Apex said. “WAIT!” Darkhide protested. Apex loosened his grip. “I am a drake I swear, I was born without feathers and I was sent to the surface to find out what happened to the humans!” Darkhide said. “Hmm prove it, bring me another drake, your leader. Oh and tell them that if you don’t comply that my so- … Apex will blast fire into your caves and cook all of you like dodos in deep fryer.” Salizar said rather pleasantly. Apex lifted his talon and Darkhide scurried away. “You have one hour.” Salizar said.
“Lies! You’re just trying to trick us into leaving the security of our home and to make a fool out of our leader!” A councilman said. “Are we sure it’s worth a risk? Think about the children.” A drake General called Igneous said. “You’re the most by the book drake here Emerald, what say you?” Terrace asked. Emerald looked around the room thinking, Darkhide’s face looked truthful, and scared. “We have no choice. We have to do it.” She said.
“So, how bright up there is it exactly?” Terrace asked Darkhide as they led the way through the cave. “Crazy bright, but it should be almost sunset now.” He answered. “Ah the fabled ‘sun’ I have to say I am intrigued by the concept.” Terrace said. They eventually reached the exit, only Darkhide and Terrace actually left the cover of the cave ceiling, the rest watched from the wide cave mouth. The lumbering form of Apex towered behind Salizar, Terrace saw them, but was paying much more attention to the beautiful sunset, the purple willows glowing slightly from its fading light. “This the leader?” Salizar asked. Nobody really answered before he immediately snapped his fingers, Apex on cue lunged his head down and snatched Terrace up, swallowing him with a horrible crunch. There were screams and gasps of shock and horror from the onlookers, but Salizar continued without so much as a flinch, “you all belong to me now. Any questions?” Nobody answered, they all just looked on in disbelief, “good, first order of business, I need miners, who’s good at digging?” He asked happily. Nobody moved. “Come on don’t be shy, I won’t bite! That’s what Apex is for.” He laughed. “I’ll do it.” Darkhide said. “Darkhide!” Emerald whispered urgently, she couldn’t believe he just signed up for this. “Ahh our first volunteer! I’ll make you Forman!” Salizar said, still cheerful, “who else?” A few slowly stepped out. “Good, good! Welcome to Salizar mining, where your safety is the least of our concerns!” Salizar said, quite pleased with his slogan. “What about the rest of us? You gonna eat us all?” Emerald asked defiantly. “The rest of you can find your uses, the castle over there needs some renovations. And guards are always nice!” Salizar said. “And if we don’t want to work for you?” Emerald said. “Well, down the hatch.” Salizar replied. Emerald just looked between Salizar and Darkhide, she felt betrayed and hopeless, but she did notice others seemed to look the same.

24 hours before the Titanosaur Showdown…
Sodden rode his pteranodon towards the Redwoods, along with Serenity and Rod and their Argies. “You know, I like this. Can’t believe we’re leaving tomorrow.” Rod said. “Yeah. We still got some more things left.” Sodden said. “Yeah, but we’re coming back, right?” Rod said. “Yes. I never thought we’d be here. Even after my little mess up a few weeks back, Nudon still trusted me. Serenity helped me a lot throughout that time.” Sodden said. “Yeah. The day I met you… it was crazy. I woke up early one morning to get metal, and during the run, I saw a huge beacon of green light on the shore way south of my base, near the swamp. The light was very bright, and since we were so close it, it woke up my tribe and they saw it too. What we knew was that it meant a new survivor spawned in. Terad didn’t care at first until he discovered what the survivor really wanted to do. We were just out collecting meat for our Gigas when we saw the dead Allo. I was coming over when I saw you for the first time. Then you saw the Giga and ran away. And also left your raptor behind. I helped you that day, brought the raptor back, and so many things happened since that day.” Serenity said. “Yeah. I didn’t expect much the morning I spawned in. I just knew the basics of the Arks and didn’t do much. Even when I was just a few hours old, I had decided to pursue all creatures. And now I’m not only doing that… but also going out to free you and the people of C Tribe. By destroying the Assassin Heart.” Sodden said as he smiled. “A lot has changed since you spawned in. We will be with you all the time. We’re gonna help you. We’ve got a long journey ahead of us, but we’re making great progress.” Serenity said. “Yeah. Even in the lows.” Rod said. “Yeah. But I kept going, no matter what.” Sodden said. “Well, we’re almost to the redwoods. Let’s find the Alpha Rex.” Serenity said. Sodden nodded then the trio went down to the ground.
When the creatures had regained stamina, they took off for the Redwoods Mountain. Sodden looked across the left of the mountain. Rod looked on the right. Serenity looked at the top. Nothing yet. Sodden and Rod circled the mountain, scouting the area for Rexes. There were quite a few normal Rexes across the mountain, but no Alphas. Then after a while of looking, the trio met at the top of the mountain. “Well, some people from Nudon are scouting Far’s Peak and the two snow mountains. We’ll look through the Giga mountain.” Sodden said. “Okay.“ Rod said. The trio then set out for the Giga mountain.
After an hour, the trio approached Giga Mountain, and saw a ton of Argies and Rexes around the base of the mountain, with Allos on the back side and some sabers and raptors on the tip. The trio split up to look around the mountain. Serenity looked around the left and front. Nothing. Sodden went to the back, then saw a red glow in the distance. Parasaurs were getting split in pieces and blood was on the ground. The red glow got bigger when it came closer, and Rod came over and saw it. Serenity showed up just then. Then they heard crunching as the trees fell. Then it came out of the trees and roared as it ran at a Argy. “It’s an Alpha Rex! We found it!” Sodden said. “Dude. Look what it’s doing to the place!” Rod yelled as he pointed to the bloody grass patches around the base of the mountain. “It’s just ruthlessly killing off creatures. We have to stop it!” Serenity said. “Wait. We gotta check the level.” Sodden said. He took out a spyglass and looked through it, and saw that the Alpha Rex was a Level 105. “105! Yikes. I mean, it could be a 150, but 105 is still really powerful!” Sodden yelled. The trio went to the ground, hopped off their flyers, cryopoded them, and each one of the trio threw out a Giga. Sodden got a Giga from Red and now it was time for him to use it. They got on their Gigas then charged down the slope towards the Alpha Rex, who was going down to the redwoods river. Sodden’s Giga grabbed the tip of the tail of the Rex, and it stopped, turned around, and let out a huge screech. It stormed to the Gigas, ready to destroy them, then the Gigas grabbed the Rex all at once. The Gigas were trying to bite through, then the Rex screeched and landed a bite on a Giga’s nostrils, causing it to screech in pain and drop the Rex’s neck. The Rex swung below to bite the leg of Sodden’s Giga, then Rod’s Giga grabbed the Rex’s head by the mouth. Then Sodden let go of the Rex, and so did Serenity. The Rex tried to hit the Giga with the legs, but the Giga threw the Rex out into the distance, towards the river. The Alpha Rex was flung in the air, screeching as it plummeted 110 meters down towards the river. The Gigas ran down the hill just then. The Alpha Rex then smashed into the water, causing a huge wave of water to splash across the surrounding shores. The water did not slow the fall by much, and the Rex got busted hard. There was a large hole in the right side of its body and a crack in its head. The Alpha Rex was unconscious and losing health insanely fast. Blood poured out of the body and into the water. The Gigas got to the river and saw the heavily crippled Rex. Then a yellow message appeared on the trio’s implant. The Rex was dead. The trio, along with their creatures, got a very good amount of XP. Sodden had an explorer note from a few minutes ago, so he was now Level 96. Rod was Level 93. Serenity hopped off her Giga then ran to the dead Alpha Rex, opened its inventory, and got a Alpha Tyrannosaur Tooth. “Let’s get this safely back to base, then we can find Red and his group.” Serenity said as she walked back to the Giga. Sodden and Rod nodded. Serenity put the tooth in her bag then got on the Giga. “Oh, what’re we doing on these? We can just fly back.” Rod said. Everyone laughed then got off the Gigas and put them in their cryopods. Then they took out their flyers and set out back for the base.

Blood swept across the battlefeild as the terror birds ran into the fight. The dodos didnt stand a chance against the survivors, but the terror birds might. They ran into the raging war, all of them from all the different ARKs came. The ones from Scorched Earth charged head-first as the ones from Valgrueo jumped from the trees and boulders, gliding and striking from above. The suvivors called for reinforcements as the terror bird king, a Raptor, screeched across The Island and called the Dodorex and Dodowyvern (the dodowyvern came with the terrorbirds from Scorched Earth) along with some raptors and more dodos. The dodorex came smashing through the trees at the Dodo side of the battle, reaching the feild where the battlefeild was and roared. It stomped through them and reached the humans. It blew fire across several tribes of survivors and killed many. The dodowyvern flew out of its hiding spot behing a towering rock formation and soared across, putting a shadow over the watching survivors. It attacked from above, leaving only a few behind.
The raptors and dodos rushed down a nearby hill and crashed into the battle. They wiped out the rest of the survivors quickly. The battle was done. The war is over. The dodos, raptors, terror birds and the big reinforcements all cheered happily. The dodos finally got revenge.
I hope you all liked the Story of the Dodo War. As always thank you for reading.

Journey: Chapter 22
While Crimson ate a small pile of meat as they sat near a water vein, Forest told her what happened to him. He told her about how he ended up in a different place, how he met Nightfall, the trouble he got into there, and that he met an insect named Nectar.
“So you were somewhere else called ’The Island ’ where you met this pint-sized Troodon who was being hunted down by a large group of his own kind and you got away by a giant bug who picked you guys up, saved you and flew away with you. Then you went to a volcano where you saw a terminal like from an Obelisk that got you here. Well you had a more interesting few days than I have. All I’ve done is hid away from predators and grabbed water.” Crimson saying with a mouth full of meat.
“Well I wish I didn’t have the more interesting time. I nearly got executed.” Forest said.
“Okay are we done talking, because it’s getting dark, and we should probably get moving to the Green Obelisk.” Nightfall said.
“Yeah, I think we’re done, I told Crimson everything that happened.” Forest said to Nightfall.
“Now wait, I have a few more questions about you Nightfall. Can you answer my questions while we walk?” Crimson asked while finishing her meal. Nightfall groaned
“Fine, let’s just get moving. Start asking away.” Nightfall said as he started walking.
Forest and Crimson walked with him “Okay, how do you know to speak Coelacanth?” Crimson asked,
“Well, I can speak more than that, I can speak most species languages including Human.” Nightfall stated.
“But how?” Crimson asked again,
“Uh.” Nightfall started he looked over at Forest for a moment.
“You can, we aren’t going to be hunted here, plus even if you don’t. We would have already endangered her by being with her.” Forest said.
“What?? You know why Forest?” Crimson said confused.
“Yeah and you will too.” Nightfall said “Okay here why.” Nightfall said.
Nightfall began to tell Crimson everything about his part of the story. About him being apart of a secret society of Troodons, that to join you have to learn something of importance and he chose Linguistics, how he learned more about the ancient knowledge of the Order, how he resigned from the Order and what that meant, having to kill two members to not get killed himself how he met Forest and their encounter with the Order.
“So Forest, you made friends unknowingly with an outlaw of a secret society that wants him dead and that makes you and me accomplices with him? Count me in!” Crimson said.
“Well, I think that part of his story is over Crimson. So I think that we aren’t accomplices to him anymore either.” Forest said,
“Well, probably not” Nightfall said as he climbed up on a rock to get a good view.
“What?” Both Crimson and Forest said in unison.
“After a few days, if the Order don’t already know. They will send out a message informing them that a member has resigned and is on the loose. And since I was with a wild who so happens to be the leader of the Five.-”
“I am not the leader.” Forest cut in.
“You kind of are though.” Crimson said after.
“Okay, Back to the point! Which means that we will be hunted down on any place we step foot. Which is why I want to get out of here before night falls.” Nightfall continued on after being interrupted,
“Ah Hah!!!!” Nightfall yelled.
“The Green Obelisk is ove-”
“WHO DARES DISTRIBUTE MY SLUMBER!!!! FOR THEY SHALL PAY!!!!!!” Something said out-loud for the three to hear.
The Riddles of the Phoenixes Series
Chapter twenty one: Arguments.
*DING DONG!!!!* *DING DONG!!!!!!* A bell rang loudly. On and on and on and on and on and on. Rowan was in darkness. She could see absolutely nothing. A smothering darkness choked her and she clawed and fought to get out of wherever she was. *DING DONG!!!!* *DING DONG!!!!* she clutches both sides of her, trying to keep the bells from making her go deaf.
“Rowan.” A voice called. Rowan spun to see her mother, her eyes dark with disappointment. “You failed. Such a disappointment. Ugh disgrace. I thought you wouldn’t let me and your father down.” Her mother said.
“Mother please. I’m not a disappointment. Please! Let me try again!” Rowan pleaded. Her mother shook her head slowly. “Disappointment.” She hissed. Rowan stepped forward, coughing vigorously, choking on the smokey fog. “Disgrace.”
“Mother please!”
Rowan reached for her mother but she’s vanished into midair. Tears gathered at the edges of Rowan’s eyes. “Please! Mother come back! I’ll do better! I promise!”
“YOU’RE TOO LATE. YOUR FATE IS SEALED. SEALED IN STONE.” A voice growled.
Rowan squirmed in panic, trying to get out.
She caught sight of someone briefly. A woman with dark red hair that fell to her shoulders and white eyes. “Rowan..” The woman whispered, her face contorted in pain. She held out a hand toward Rowan. Rowan reached for it. Almost there. And then she grabbed it.
But she stopped. Something had grabbed Rowan’s ankle and was pulling her away from the woman. And then more hands grasped Rowan pulling her down, choking her. “Please help me..” She choked. But the woman was gone.
*DING DONG!!!!* *DING DONG!!!!* *DING DONG!!!!!* “SEALED IN STONE SEALED IN STONE SEALED IN STONE SEALED IN STONE SEALED IN STONE SEALED IN STONE—”
~
Rowan awoke to someone shaking her. She sat up gasping. She looked at the person who’d woken her up. It was Kannon. Rowan rubbed her eyes and blinked at him, scowling. “Why did you wake me up?” She snapped.
Kannon made a few hand signals. Rowan stared at him blankly. “I don’t speak sign language dummy.”
Kannon’s head lowered and he shrugged. He pointed toward her, put his hands folded under his chin like he was sleeping pointed to her again and then to her mouth. “I was…yelling in my sleep?” Rowan asked. Kannon nodded.
Rowan thought back on the dream. “What did I say?” She whispered. Kannon opened his mouth then closed it. He shrugged. Rowan rolled her eyes. “Useless.” She muttered under her breath.
Kannon backed off and walked toward the others. Rowan followed him. Everyone sat in a circle and the lantern shone in the middle of their circle. Liz was curled up against Oliver, her head resting on his shoulder. William leaned heavily against the wall. Rowan crossed over and sat in the corner across from Cedric but distant from everyone else.
Sunny snuck up behind her sitting in the shadows, her blue eyes dancing with a expression that Rowan couldn’t read. “And as soon as I woke, I was attacked by a group of raptors. It’s like they were…waiting for me. I think however we spawned here we were intentionally placed in certain places. So when I spawned I was attacked and I guess they were hoping that I’d be killed.” William was saying in a low voice.
Oliver’s brow furrowed. “And then what happened?” He asked. “Well obviously I ran. I don’t have any weapons. This “implant” is probably useless so yeah…I ran. Till I found this cave and collapsed in a pool of blood. I couldn’t move. The only food or water I had was that rain water falling from the cracks in the ceiling. One drop at a time.”
“And that’s how Liv found you?” Cedric asked. “Yeah after a while.” William said, sipping slowly from a birch wood cup full of water. “She’s pretty resourceful, that one.”
“Did you see anyone else on the island?” William shrugged. “I was in this cave most of the time…waiting to die. Although I did hear voices outside the cave once.” He replied. “Why didn’t you call out for help then?!” Cedric asked, sounding exasperated.
William’s face went dark. “Because…they weren’t trying to save people. They were looking for me. For us. For the Phoenixs. To bring us to “The Master” or someone. I’m almost certain that’s who’s in the dome.” A shiver ran down Rowan’s spine as Sunny’s tail lightly brushed her arm.
Sunny was humming under her breath. The same tune.
“So we need to get to the dome and stop them right?” Cedric asked. “Yeah…sounds like great plan even though there’s what, six of us?” William said slowly. Liv perked up. “Hey! I’m coming too!” She squeaked. Oliver shook his head. “You’re too young Liv. You could get hurt.”
“I’m eight! I’m old enough and if you don’t let me come then-then I’ll come anyway!” Liv exclaimed angrily.
Cedric chuckled and patted Oliver on the shoulder. “You’ve got a feisty little sister. You can come pip squeak, we’ll watch out for you.” He said. “But what about William? Someone has to stay with him.” Oliver said. Rowan frowned and looked at Sunny. Sunny narrowed her amber eyes thoughtfully.
William frowned as well. “What are you talking about? I’m coming. There’s no way I’m letting you kids go without my supervision.” Cedric rolled his eyes. “First off we don’t need your “supervision”, thank you very much. And also you’re injured! You could die! You’re not going.” Cedric said.
William narrowed his eyes at his grandson and sat up straighter, although wincing slightly. “Young man I am coming. I’m going to help y’all with this if it’s the last thing I do.”
“But I don’t want it to be the last thing you do!!! I don’t want you to die!! You’re part of my family for goodness sake!!” Cedric protested.
William opened his mouth to say something but Rowan interrupted them. “Just stop arguing. I already have a headache. If…William wants to risk his life and die to get out of this place then that’s his choice. No one else’s. I don’t care.” Rowan said. Cedric rose to his feet, ignoring Oliver’s pleading “please don’t fight” look.
“It’s not JUST his choice if there are people who care about him! And there ARE people who do. We’re not all heartless like you!” Cedric snapped. Rowan rose to her feet, although she was a head shorter than Cedric she was just as intimidating.
“I’m not heartless! I’m thinking on terms of our survival! If he dies on his own cause then it’s HIS fault. This was his decision. We’re in a life or death situation!! Deal with it.” Rowan hissed.
“But that doesn’t mean that we don’t use good reasoning to keep people from dying for us!!”
“Its his choice! If he dies he dies!”
“No one else has to die if we all work together!”
“Well then obviously you should back down and follow my plan and “work together” on it!!”
“Well if you’re plan includes people dying then I will not!”
“Guys just stop!” Elayne yelled at the top of her lungs. (Which is very loud considering how high Elayne can scream. She got in between them. “Y’all are fighting when we could be working. I just want to get home.” She whispered.
Rowan glared at her. “Yeah because you’re a spoiled little brat who’s been pampered her whole life. You just want to get back to your “special” life. Pathetic!” Rowan spat. A hurt look ran across Elayne’s face. Cedric stepped in front of her. “Hey! Don’t talk to my cousin like that!”
“I can talk to her however I want “Your majesty”.” Rowan hissed, her eyes flashing with rage.
She whirled around and stomped off out the cave entrance. “Rowan come back! It’s not safe at night!” Oliver called. There was no answer. “Kids.” William muttered under his breath.
They all turned and looked at Cedric. “What?!” He asked defensively.
“You’re the one who made her angry. Go deal with it.” Oliver said plainly. Cedric blinked at him. “What? Why?”
“Because the rest of them don’t want to be..squashed. And I’m injured.” William said. Cedric gritted his teeth. “Ugh fine! But if it doesn’t end well don’t blame me! I’m better at starting fights then defusing them!”
With that he marched off after Rowan. “Do you think he can do it?” Liv asked. Kannon snorted. “We’ll just have to see.” Oliver said.

Chapter 22
“Fuzzball, psst! Wake up!” Fuzzball quickly got up and saw Honeydrop and the rest of the Dodos… afraid? “What is it?” Fuzzball asked as he let Buddy out for a morning stretch and gave him a small chunk of meat. “Sneaky reported that there was a huge sand invasion coming this way.” Honeydrop replied as Sneaky nodded from behind. “We gotta get moving then!” Fuzzball said as he got up and looked outside. There was indeed a huge sandstorm (not invasion) coming at them at a rapid speed. “Never mind, I guess we’ll just stay inside.” Fuzzball said.
“Soooo can we eat now?” Chunk asked as his stomach growled. “Sure, I’m pretty hungry as well.” Mocker said. As everybody sat down the ground started to shake, this made Fuzzball remember about Bob in a sad way. “Shouldn’t we just block the entrance just in case it doesn’t come inside?” Sneaky said with a worried tone. “We don’t have anything to cover it though. Not saying we have anything strong to hold it. So I’m sure we’ll be fine.” Honeydrop replied. Chunk then made a campfire and started to make some ‘berries and leaves dish’. “Uh guys, why isn’t the sandstorm here yet?” I asked. It was strange to see a sandstorm come very slowly, although this was the first time Fuzzball had seen one. “I’ll take a look.” Sneaky said as he got up and took a peek outside, exactly the same time when the sandstorm arrived. “AHHHHH!!” Sneaky shouted as the sandstorm was trying to take him away. “Sneaky hold onto my hand, guys help pull!” Fuzzball said as he reached for Sneaky’s hand. “Pull!!” Honeydrop shouted, everyone kept pulling until Sneaky finally got out of the sandstorm. “Rule number 1, never take a peek outside a cave.” Sneaky said then fainted. Everything seemed to be alright now to Fuzzball except the ground felt softer.
“SAND! It’s pouring inside!” Fuzzball exclaimed as he quickly picked up Buddy, who was enjoying the sand. “Cheep!” Buddy chirped sadly. Fuzzball quickly grabbed a few inches of sand and put it in his pouch for Buddy to enjoy. The Glowtail quickly saw the sand in the pouch and happily went inside. “So what do we do now!?” Chunk panicked. “We gotta go through the sandstorm!” Fuzzball said as he made his way to the cave’s entrance. The sand was already reaching his knee, which made it harder to walk. But Honeydrop grabbed him. “We’ll get buried alive out there though!”
“We’ll get buried alive here anyways if we stay here, Chunk and Mocker, carry Sneaky!” Fuzzball said as he helped Chunky by carrying a bag of supplies and putting it on his back. “Do you guys have a cloth or something?” Fuzzball shouted to the Dodo’s through the sandstorm's wind. “Yes!” Honeydrop shouted back. “Use it to cover your face!” Fuzzball replied as Chunk gave a piece of cloth big enough for everyone. Soon everyone was outside in the sandstorm. The wind was so hard that it nearly took Fuzzball and the rest of the Dodo’s away.
“Incoming big stick!” Mocker shouted as he pointed at something in the sky. At first it seemed to be a shaggy object but as it got closer Fuzzball realized it was a log, and it was heading straight to them. “Get down!” Fuzzball shouted as he quickly dropped down to the ground. But it was too late. The log had already hit the rest of the Dodo’s and dragged Fuzzball along. “AHHHH! My beautiful body is gone!” Chunk exclaimed as his body was underneath the log.
Suddenly something hitted Fuzzball’s head and everything faded black.
