From what I can tell there are 3 classifications.
1. Attack- this is the head attachment that looks like mouse ears (Scans nearby threats and shows health bars.) And the cannon chest attachment (fires a plasma ball that explodes on impact.)
2. Defense- this is the head attachment that looks like deer antlers (uses a sonic pulse that impairs enemies[needs work, not very useful]) and the chest piece that actually juts up from the hips and looks like speakers (creates a force field in front of striders view zone[only effective against projectiles at distance])
3. Harvesting- Head attachment thats slinder, looks like a cannon(planet terraforming god, point, click and harvest) and the chest piece that looks like a small cannon close to the chest (accesses world mining drills for resources.)
Misc- there are a few other body styles I've seen but haven't discovered those uses yet.
More Tek Stryder Utility Tips
The resource attractor rig provides a base weight increase, as well as decreasing the weight of resources like Metal, wood, stone and crystal. Works extremely well with the excavation rig!
I love these thing but for the love of god just at least have be able to be cryopoded
Unfortunately you can not put them in cryo as of june 6th.

If your on singleplayer, go for one with an excavator rig. Itβll get you everything, and i mean it. It can harvest almost every resource in group gathering and it has a weight reduction for everything. Yes. Everything.
The farming one can instant transfer one specific material of your choice straight into a dedicated storage box inside your base at any distance OP!!!
You can heal a stryder quickly with a scout drone.
These are carryable by tek skiff
Cannot be picked up by any dino, cannot ride on a motorboat/raft or a quetz platform saddle, and cannot be in a cryopod.
Get one with excavation drill bit. Pump weight. Youβll get soooo much metal, stone, other stuff, wood, everything, really. I got THOUSANDS of metal in seconds with it. Use it.
