Be sure to have a lot of narcotics for high lvl tames as spino do tend to wake up quickly.

So my spino riptide is lvl 64 5355 hp and 312% melee so what I do is since I gain xp while on him for the stuff he kills I sit in the swamp in the water murdering anything I can find easy XP

Even though they are close to rivaling the Rex, they are harder to tame for new players in the sense of keeping it knocked out, the Rex stays out a lot longer, as for usefulness the spino does get a water buff which is amazing but it would be useless in most boss arenas because they don’t have any type of water, the Rex also comes with the ability to equip it with a tek saddle which will just shred bases if you have it unlocked, to achieve a top level spino you’ll need kibble, the kibble is made from Rex eggs also, overall the spino is an amazing Dino, just not as useful as the Rex in terms of long term survival.

Like the better version of rex. Can swim very fast, get water buff, can do more damage on two legs, very mobile when on two legs and much more agile than rex. Tame one.

These are my favorite dino to use for just about anything. Excellent swimmers, lots of damage on 2 feet, and very fast on 4 feet. Also great on abberaton to take down into the rock drake zone when going for drake eggs.

These guys are way better than rexes (in my opinion) they're also more versatile as they can swim and have a quick running speed and are usually better than rexes (but if you need brute force and strength the rex would be better) I hope this was a good tip

Honestly, I want to get a baby spino and modify the settings to make it never mature so I can keep a baby spino as a pet for a really long time

If you live near one..... make a stone 4x4x4 stone box and go in it if they attack. Lost a tame or two to one ima put all my games it stone protection cages

Squishier than a Rex, but with higher damage output. Do recommend!

Pound for pound these badasses are the second most powerful land predator in the game. Base damage of a spin-off is 50 vs Rex’s 60, and Rex is a little tankier. However, Spina has higher attack speed, giving it higher DPS. It has 2 and 4 leg movement modes, so it can move a hell of a lot faster than Rex, and even outrun Gigias. In water it gets awesome buffs that last 30 seconds when it strays onto land. Also, they make a great water mount until you get a dedicated water Dino like a Plesi or Moses, so Spino is your foot into the door of underwater exploration. This is a must have for any survivor’s war-Dino herd.

Spinos r great for going underwater mid game/end game plus they get a water buff that makes them go faster and do more damage plus if I’m not mistaken they do not get leeches attached to them when they go into the swamp so overall try and get a spino by raising it from and get or getting it from people or taking it cuz they can rlly help you in the long run

I tamed my first spino at level 13 and when I say it sucked trying to get the material and levels for her saddle I mean it really sucked but Jawbreaker will always be my favorite girl ♡

Just better than Rex trust me, on a quadrupedal stance they can run faster and more manageable for travel and on the bipedal stance they are great for offense while slower on land and water they can make up for raw damage, first off the Rex only has a slow space for attacks and has to move a lot for fast targets which is same for Spinos but when they go bipedal they have extremely fast reflexes for attacks and a fast pace for more space and range so I recommend for anyone

It has less health and is (slightly) beat by the rex in raw damage output, but the utility of a spino makes it the FAR superior option between the two apex carnivores. It can go anywhere, it doesn’t get stuck easily, and it’s one of the best gatherers of biotoxin. It’s also able to go into radiation without issue. These things are at their best on aberration, but they’re powerhouses everywhere.

It’s not as good as a rex for fighting bosses, but it’s superior for every other role.

Great in the swamp and for dealing with alpha raptors and carnos, but not alpha rexs. I killed an alpha carno with mine easily

to hell with the karkinos and megalosaurus in aberration just get a spoon they are so strong and fast and they attack fast and can alt turn plus their roar doesn't take stamina like the bary and giga.

Spinos are good on water,underwater (ocean). The oxygen drop down slowly!

Can kill a rock elemental if health and damage is high enough

In ark mobile if you tell a spino to attack then use the spy glass on the Dino being attacked the spino does 3x more damage
