If you guys want cheap traps, I recommend a Youtuber named Captain Fatdog. He has done traps on all sorts of creatures, including the Spino, and they work really well.

So, I’m level forty in the new game I just started, and I found a lvl 145 by my base and knew I needed to tame it. I used six stone Dino gates and got it trapped by leading it on my lvl 125 pteranodon. The freaking spino kills my flyer and I presume to tranq it. Dododex says only 53 tranqs for a level 145, but it took me close to 65… no misses. My crossbow legit broke on the last shot. Being a low level, I couldn’t really get my hands on prime meat, so I’m camped out next to this spino with my trike, feeding it hundreds of biotoxin and narcs as it slowly eats the fish meat I got ahold of. I’ve got a long three and a half hours ahead.

It's easy af. Craft 50-60 tranq arrrows, dind spino, find cliff, lead spino to bottom of cliff (or send your friend as a sacrifice to lead it towards the cliff), stand at top of cliff, shoot the spino in the face until it falls asleep, feed it narcoberries and meat, boom boom shakataka, you have spino.

Be aware of Genesis' X-Spinos, like all "X-"Dinos, having significantly increased damage resist, resulting in way more tranq darts needed than stated above. If you're going to tame an X-Spino, take at least double the amount with you!

Place 3 stone dino gates and one giant bear trap in middle, shoot it and boom here he comes... While he is on trap place last stone dino gate on the back ez tame. Really good in swamp everything fears them and kapro cannot grab you while standing in 2 legs.

Stabz~ Spinos are super fast on land so trying to knock them out without a trap can be tough.

I personally recommend going into a lake (yuh I know they are better killers in water) but a wild spino won’t go deeper in the lake than the surface for some odd reason (maybe ark glitch?) TRY IT!!! Please up this comment so others will see! :)

So hi I and today I'm gonna teach u how to tame a spino

You will need-

A crossbow

Trang arrows (at least 28)

A lot of raw meat (46)

Or raw fish meat (20)

Or prime meat or mutton

Fish meat is best though

Bio toxin or narcs

Now to tame it get on a cliff and take out your crossbow

Start shooting it it will aggro after some 8 arrows it will start fleeing chase it and knock it

Now I just give it meat or fish meat and toxin or narcs

Hi I'm Tiger my last tip was on the raptor

I was low level when I got mine (On single player too) it was always around the river I used for water and kept breaking my pipes. So I looked at a few guides and found an easy way to capture it. Just build a 3 x 3 of stone and build 3 stone door frames up on each side. On another build ramps going up to the top. Get the attention of the spino with your weapon (a bow will do) and run up the ramps, it might take a few tries but if it follows you slip through the door frame and it won’t be able to escape, then just knock it out with tranq arrows or darts. Guys!!!! Don’t compare the Rex and the Spino! Both are good at what they are. Spino is a glass cannon and gets a major buff in water. It has high speed, damage, range and knockback. Use this against small enemies to medium-large enemies to ultra decimate them! Even more when in water!!! It’s damage is what carries it. Rex is a tank that is used against bigger enemies. It has ultra health, high damage (but less than Spino), moderate speed, moderate range and has a ability to stun creatures and make them defecate! Use against small enemies for major advantage, as well as big enemies too! It does good at both tanking and damage, so it’s rounded up unlike the Spino. When comparing each other, none are better than the other. They are both very good at what they do!

I tamed a lvl 105 with cooked fish meat give me a medal

stand on a high cliff and shoot it or keep shootong it and running away on a raptor until it's knocked out. it gets distracted very easly by fish, sharks and manta's (even while chasing you) so you may want to shoot it while it's distracted.

If you wanna knock out a spin-off don’t use bolas. I found out the hard way.😂

Bruh, people just making this thing hard. The tip to tame a spinosaurus is just going for him riding a carbonemys (it will need lots of health, I think 2000 is enough) while having a crossbow or bow with tranqs. Just shoot him repeatedly as he will hit your carbonemys instead of you, and when he starts to run away, get out of the carbonemys and keep shooting and chasing him until he gets knocked. Then feed him lots of meat and use lots of narcotics (biotoxins better). Thx for reading and hope it helps ^_^

THANK YOU ALL FIR CONVINCING ME TO TAME A SPINO!!!! At this time over 125 people are supporting me to tame a spino! And I DID!!!!!!! His name is Hemlock (after the water hemlock poison plant 🌿) as soon as I tamed him we had to head into dangerous territory to get back to my base. He protected me and my raptor Delta (who I tamed with him) from a therizosaur and a gang (like 7) of dilos! He was on low health too! I will protect him forever! Thank you all so much for your love and support! I wrote a story about him and if u want to read it it’s in the story section titled “Hemlock” 😁

Multiplayer tip, this works well! How tame a low level, easy as taming a dodo almost.

Step 1: Have a pteranodon with good stamina.

Step 2: Scout the area for a spino (any level).

Step 3: Carry your tribe-mate to spino (keep your distance in the air)

Step 4: Have your friend tranq it.

Step 5: Use soothing balm/starve tame.

Easy tame, somehow.

I am a noob just started the game a week ago, I was super into spino. As one killed me the first day. I am level 27 and tamed one, can't ride it but still looks so cool.

This is how , first you need butt load of stones, wood and thatch. Like 2700 stone, 1600 wood, 1000 thatch. I made 9 stone foundations in 3×3, then put door frames around it and make it 3 door frames high so it can't climb it , put stone stare case from the side spino is closest to, put pillars under it to support. You are 1/4 way there. Get Tranq arrows( depending upon level of dino)and a crossbow. I shot it once and it caught and killed me, i got back and he was still there so i did it all again and got him in , tranq him till he feel asleep, used fish meat and bio toxin and there you go now you have a spino , go wild
