Encountering Tips

How do I kill a spinosaurus? spinosaurus battling strategies in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
If you encounter a spino and you don’t at least have a good triceratops you’re basically dead on arrival. Spinos aren’t big slow pushovers the way rexes are, they can and will actually tear you in half, they rely off a different ai than most creatures because their ai is programmed to spam attack as fast as they possibly can oh and they do a ton of damage, they can outrun and out swim you so unless you can fly or have a super fast mount be prepared to fight, you’re not outrunning this thing trust me.
If you start in the Southern Isles (south spawn region) and head west across the shoreline you’re bound to run into one that’ll be hanging out in a river connecting a swamp and the open ocean. Just be mindful of it’s location and try to stick near the trees while watching the shoreline.
Once I saw a high level spino wandering around and killing everything in sight and when I shot my bow it ran away and I was like what the hell? Killing them isn’t hard just tame a few Dilophosaurs and let them spit poison at the Spino before killing it with your pistols. If you don’t have pistols, get more and higher leveled Dilo and stand back and shoot it with a bow to assist.
Just spawned into a new world on the island and spent a solid 30 min making a thatch base. I walked down the beach and saw a spin-off pop out of the ocean right in front of me. Killed me in two hits. Was not expecting to see a spin-off in my first 30 of playing! Going to try and tame it tomorrow.
I killed a spino lvl 2 with a pike and two turtles. (RIP cassie and Cate carbonmeyes)
I am currently taming a Female 150 Spino on a official Ragnarok server. The best way to find one of these rare Dino’s I’ve found is to litterally kill everything you see inside the canyon one will spawn eventually took about 10 min of killing and that includes fish
These things ain’t as bad as they look. A decent level sarco can take one down with a few shots from a longneck first.
Spinosaurus vs Rex:
Spinosaurus: has two modes: one for travel and one for attack. It’s faster and stronger than the Rex depending on the mode. Four legs = faster Two legs = stronger
Rex: only has one mode but has higher health and stamina than the spinosaurus. The Rex is basically a tank that can take some hits and it may not have as good damage as the spinosaurus, but can deal a lot of damage.
They are both good. Just choose who you want
Rip: Bubbles spino died by giga
Bein' a piratey raft lad, I don't go inland to oft'n so I know thems sailed critters don't live on the out'r beaches, so don't go lookin' for a saily lad if on the shores.
Dica:
NUNCA lutes com um spinosaurus dentro de água !!!
These guys are just massive wusses (making them harder to tame) knock em to like 2/3 health, they run. Knock em to almost half torpor, they run
Take 5 or 4 raptors and they can finish spino in no time mine one was 46 and second one was 36 and last one was 44 they smashed a spino
They look big and slow, but just wait till they see something and they go crazy fast. Also why’s everyone saying the beaches are the safest areas I’m on the beach and can see like 5 of these guys at a time south zone 3. In the forest there’s nothing except for the occasional dilo
When I was running it was dark and I fell off a low cliff and I saw a spin-off but I was on a rock it saw me and I got scared and I fell off the rock and I died so don’t try not to go by them
This Dino will kill literally everything within a 5 mile radius
Also it’ll wait by your body after it kills you until it finds something else to hunt
Literally the NIGHTMARE FUEL. This dude is literally phycotic, bro is in a hurry for a carnage
You have to be a mid to high lvl to be able to tackle one. They are very, very strong despite having less hp as the Rex. They are also very fast, so there is no going back once you engage, unless they are low, in that case they will sprint away.
I dont know if this was a spawning error or not for me, but on Astraeos at lat 40.5 long 56.4, on that area there was just an absurd amount of spinos (like over 25) and that was the main area they were staying in, I didn't really see any on any other part of the island
Spino on top it’s better than a rex
