Spino are a very deadly mount which they can switch between to mode: traveling mode(speed ++, attack speed - -)

And combat mode(attack speed ++,speed- -) and if they got hydration buff(active when you ride your spino and touch water) they will move even faster, attack much stronger but without hydration buff, they will move slower and deal less damage

Taming is difficult without a mount due to their speed when fleeing

I once tried to test my spino(lv 300+) and my rex(lv 400+) to see how much damage they deal, te result is

My spino deal 400+ damage per attack with hydration buff to non amored creature

My rex deal 700+ damage per attack to non amored creature

Because spino when in combat mode, it will attack twice as quick as rexes which made it better than rexes(ONLY WHEN HYDRATION BUFF IS ON)

Did you know gigas will become neutral towards your spino

Before lvl 49 I tamed 2 spinos a rex and an alpha allo but the spinos got stuck in my tower so o just shot them unconscious ^=breed and ¥=NO BREED AND STOP TAMING BIG BOI

The bio toxin thing is a lie I used 9 bio toxin when it said to use 8 and it woke up not tamed.

Since latest update spinos will die before being knocked out using crossbows. REALLY wanted one but now seem impossible to tame

I dont know if its just me but a spino destroyed my stone house but it is stated that they dont damage stone

Here is tip for taming a spino! First grab a raft and get 5 stone pillars and 5 ladders. place the 5 pillars on the raft upward and then place the ladders on the pillar so you can get up. step 2 find spino/spinos and knock it out! (Make sure to bring at min 50 narotic ) and this has more then 1 use. I will do rexy

Lol how do people think this better than Rex with no reason?

1. Rex is much more tanky

2. Rex actually has kind of more stamina than Spino

3. Rex would beat Spino in a mounted fight (People who match them probably rode the Spino and took off the saddle of the Rex, also who fights with A.I.)

4. Much better for boss fights because it’s versatility for fighting

5. Doesn’t have to spend ALL of the time in rivers so all terrain

6. Rex has a roar which stuns creatures and makes them poop

7. Speed is actually decent and damage is higher per hit

Stop blasting untrue facts, the Spino is more overrated

It’s so fragile, and can easily be killed. Rex is much better at tanking. Plus its stamina drains faster than the Rex. Not good for boss fights.

I found a low level spino on Fjordur in the aberration cave. Small room meant it couldn’t run far and you can sit on the waterfall yeeting Tranq arrows. Just remember to bring snacks! (For you and Dino)

Are these harder to tame then tyrannosaurus? I’m thinking of taming a spino. Down for hard to tame, up for easier/same difficulty as a Rex.

For people saying it should get a rain buff, rain is different than in water. In water, it feels like you’re flying. In rain, well, it feels like land but tiny pieces are falling on you.

Keep on breeding until you have one with high base stats. After that, pump ALL into melee, and now you have hell’s forces.

It has a lot of sails. In real life sails don’t really help with swimming. Maybe tail height and length will do to make it look like it has hydro buff. And probably make sail look a tiny bit more like shark fin.

I have seen it 2 times.The first time it broke my house second time I saw it a velociraptor killed mi.
