Using a flyer for taming any carnivore is a bad idea it's a waste of time they will always run away and that wastes torpor always trap it's easy, faster and safer and you can always use it

The spino is a killing machine it kills every thing in its path even a therzinosaur i saw a wild spino kill a therzinosaur the spino was a very high level the also the spino has like a Godzilla like color and its was a male

So for mobile players this is for you if you have like let's say a lvl17 ,18,19or 20 lvld trikes don't use them against a spino I learned that the hard way so pls don't do it

Use maybe a pterodactyl and land somewhere high enough so it can't reach you or maybe make a trap also use tranq darts or arrows

When you tame these dinosaurs be SURE to bring 40 or 30 narcotics I was trying to tame this dinosaur once and it woke up so I fleed and made sure never to make the same mistake EVER again ;-;

You should get a Spino. Beware of them if they are in water, and your low. You better gets some arrows and tranqs. If you are caught by them and low, you are screwed.

For taming, since they run away super fast, a good trap is a 3x4 stone foundation with door frames that are 3 high (they can walk over 2 tall) with a ramp leading up. U might need some extra supper pillars for the ramp at the bottom depending on the land u use tho. Make sure its semi close to the water or the spino will lose interest. Then u can just lure it in, its pretty wide so it should he easy, then u basically just shoot it until its down. Ez tame. Dont forget to brung narcotics tho.

So.. i found one of these near me after i spawned in, Thankfully i didn't agro it But after a while i started thinking it will be a future threat, I wanna tame it but er.. im only lv.10 so not much can be done, I have 10 dodos they all have 40+ health some of them have 50-60 health And 5-6 Dilo's All 150+ Hp, 2 otters, And a Lystro, i'm planning on killing it but i once saw it kill a bronto which Has Like 2000+ health even if its low level.

Spino are a very deadly mount which they can switch between to mode: traveling mode(speed ++, attack speed - -)

And combat mode(attack speed ++,speed- -) and if they got hydration buff(active when you ride your spino and touch water) they will move even faster, attack much stronger but without hydration buff, they will move slower and deal less damage

Taming is difficult without a mount due to their speed when fleeing

I once tried to test my spino(lv 300+) and my rex(lv 400+) to see how much damage they deal, te result is

My spino deal 400+ damage per attack with hydration buff to non amored creature

My rex deal 700+ damage per attack to non amored creature

Because spino when in combat mode, it will attack twice as quick as rexes which made it better than rexes(ONLY WHEN HYDRATION BUFF IS ON)

Before lvl 49 I tamed 2 spinos a rex and an alpha allo but the spinos got stuck in my tower so o just shot them unconscious ^=breed and ¥=NO BREED AND STOP TAMING BIG BOI

The bio toxin thing is a lie I used 9 bio toxin when it said to use 8 and it woke up not tamed.

For the guy that asked how tame a spino u can place 4 or 5 pillars and a ceiling then use a pterenadon to get on its top shoot it till it runs and Chace it down butt be careful it's super fast and the pillars should be at least stone and u can use a tapeJara instead don't try clifs though because they can climb it

Ive haven't found one on lost island dlc yet there might be a bug the needs to be fixed
