I need help I just started and me, my dodo, my turtle, and my seven dilos are boxed in by two spinos. I need to fight them to get to some food.So I am just going to accept my fate and go fight it. However my dodo is somehow powerful enough to take on raptors so I have high hopes.
These take exceptional kibble but do not appear on the kibble.
In Valguero they spawn west of small Islands (starter point for noobs). They got attracted by any dino, and a fleeing phiomias or parasaur will eventually get it into water... Make sure to enclose all you base or you might get D-Day wiped
If you tamed one on aberraition walk down the river and back, your spino can instant 30-50lvl up.
I have yet an 256 Spino with 11k live and 450 Meele! XD
Easiest way to tame is from on top of a rock. If you spot it from far away it will come up to you and smack your head off.
I built a small wooden house boat specifically to go down the river between fars peak and smugglers pass. I was half way between the mouth of the river and the bottom of that frozen peak where there where rocks in the stream, when I saw a spino. At the time I was pretty low level, so I waited for it to fight some dinos and get lower in health. Well, it happened. A herd of trikes fought it, and when I thought it was dead, I started passing through. Then a raptor pack showed, so I stood in the center of my boat, and attacked their heads through my walls. When I finally killed the pack, the spino was back. It wasn't dead enough for me to kill it at the time, so I had 10 seconds to process what to do: save my chest of stuff, or get out. Well I had to destroy my wall to escape. To most, that is crazy to try to escape such a fast dino, but to me, it wasn't. I had always put points to my own movement speed since the very beginning. I out ran that sucker. So dont ever assume their dead. Never.
Killed a 190 at level 6 with a bow and got to level 27 doing so
Don't Ever Try to Take A Spink On When You First Start Playing....Does NOT end well I Know From Experience.
Here is the truth about the Spino no one is talking about for some reason. First, the bad: It is VERY slow on land. Don’t bother wasting points on movement. It will never have as much health as a Rex. While it is amphibious, it must come up for air occasionally. Keep an eye on his oxygen marker.
The good: It only has one speed while swimming.., FAST. Don’t bother double clicking to swim faster. He always sprints in water. His oxygen lasts an eternity underwater. Increase points into his oxygen an you will make his already impressive swimming speed even faster and allow him to stay underwater for days. His stamina drain is very slow. His bite is VERY fast, makes for some high DPS. They can swim BACKWARDS, which makes underwater fights SO much easier.
Bottom line, don’t try to make it a land fighter, that role is well taken by the Rex. I put points into melee, oxygen and Health and make it an underwater absolute beast.
Ive seen a lot of these suckers by the southern plains. Also, Ive noticed that if you are escaping one, try to find some fish. It will become distracted by the fish allowing you to escape. Hope this helps!
Bring extra narcotics to feed to it because it loses torpidity extremely fast
There are tons of spino's near rivers

I thought that with the power of nub i could kill dis beast but I got wrecked.Advice: get a trike because I came back to the site and saw my trike just standing next to the corpse next to my dilo I’ve never been so surprised.
I randomly saw a spino next to my absence so I was stupid cuz I was on call with my bestie and i tried to tame it and now look at me I’m chilling with a tamed spino
