Contrary to popular belief, these guys are simply territorial rather than aggressive; they would much rather play in the rivers and catch fish than chase a human. Because of this temperament, even Spinos know their limits.

This can be taken advantage of by reducing their health until they are greatly wounded - less than half.

This will send the Spino into a panic that will cause it to run away from players, tamed creatures, and anything that will fight back (although it will still try to catch fish if left unprovoked, but seems to get frightened and run away if hit by piranha during this time).

All you have to do from here is chase it and shoot it with Tranq Arrows as it continues to flee in panic.

Having a Mesopithecus set totarget the Spino on your shoulder during this time will be beneficial, as frightened Spinos can easily outrun a player if they want to if the player hasnt sufficiently leveled their movement speed stat.

As for how to damage it to where it will become startled, all you have to do is use your creature that can deal the most damage out of all of your tames, and hit the Spino until it becomes panicked and runs away in a desparate attempt to preserve itself, and then get off and proceed to chase it with your Tranqs and Mesopithecus. Just be careful not to get near its feet and watch out for other predators during that time.

HOW TO GET RID OF A SPINO:

Pretty easy at high levels but that's not why you're reading this anyway. At low level you probably lack the fire power to take one out and the cliff and bow tactic won't work, because they're fast and you won't be able to hit them. Try and make a trap instead:

Place a wooden spike wall.

Place a fence foundation behind it.

Place 2 walls on the foundation.

Expand to the sides the same way.

Spinos are stupid so it will run straight at you and die from its own damage. You can also shoot it from afar as it will be attacking the spikes and not you. Improvise. Adapt. Overcome!

If you want to tame a spino on easy get 30 tranq arrows 40raw fish meat 50 narcotics and a high cliff to stand on

and keep shooting it till it is knocked out

Picked up my first spino lastnight; was looking for a baryonyx to start caving, but found this bad ol' 150 boy instead.

I built a 3x4 stone trap, as I watched him kill everything in sight, and led him in. I didnt tranq it out right away, but instead took my ptera back to base, got supplies, and swam my bad B sarco back to the beach, killing a few megalodons along the way.

The sarco does NOT get prime meat, so I had to bail off the back to harvest (or while mounted, but jumping off is easier and faster IMO)... parked in a spike wall fence (wasnt needed) and fed narcotics and went for prime fish when needed.

Easy.

The worst part, in all honesty, was trying to hit the damn thing and not run out of tranq darts, lol.

FYI, I killed EVERYTHING on ny little walk back to my base on Herb Isle. It was average on everything according to the calculator... except melee, hehehe... disappointed in its movement in water, but thats about it, the thing is a monster for sure.

I went to tame a lvl 70 bary.it was killed by a 125 spino.so I decided to tame it.i used 4dino gates pen but when keeping the bear trap I put in middle.it was trapped .but I couldn't keep 4th gate properly coz the spino is halfway out so keep in mind to put the trap somewhat near to the front gate. So it gets trapped completely inside .I tamed it at last on my second attempt

Yeah one was near my base early game,best to move the base far away from it before it comes close

In Aberration, they are super common on any body of water. To knock out simply build a trap near a river consisting on a single behemoth gate and a a semi circle of stone dino gates. Shoot the twerp from inside the trap and close the gate behind him and boom, he is trapped. From there just shoot at his face and remember to feed it raw FISH MEAT which works wonders. Happy surviving, guys!

Just tamed one and its useful o really recommend taming one and its so easy to tame

To tame a spino use a grappling hook a bow and 60 tranq arrows it worked for me.

You will need a trap and a crossbow with blue and white arrows. These things are fast and powerful.

I was doing some river fishing on my raft. I’m just fishing peacefully, reeling in the occasional metal ingot when I hear fish dying behind me. I just think it’s nothing bad and continue fishing. Suddenly, a Spinosaurus thrusts itself onto my screen and starts eating me. I did manage to run away, but it ate my chair and campfire on the raft.

To prepare yourself for a spino said attack:lead your dinos near brontos and trigger spino then go on a raft and feed it to megaladons

The way I tamed this was to have my friend carry me on his bird and I shot him with tranq arrows. It was pretty easy but make sure to have extra narcotics on you they wake up quickly. But for this to work you need friends. Rip

I was trying to tame an otter then I look for the otter and turn over I saw the spino eating it 😭😭😭😭😭

Bring a LOT! I mean A LOT of narcotics with when taming these babys. If you mess up your starvation timer, you are screwed!

How to tame spino:

You will need: A spino (to tame, duh), a pteranodon with a saddle, an icthy with a saddle, a nearby leed, 40-50 tranq arrows and a bow.

Step 1: hop on your icthy and scrape meat off the leed. Step 2: Hop on your pteranodon and fly to the spino. Step 3: land your pteranodon on a rock for safety, and make sure its on attack target, or it stands there and dies, also make sure the rock is high and not near danger. Step 4: go fairly far back from the spino, and hit it with one tranq arrow. Step 5: hide behind a rock, not too tall so you can still hit the spino. Step 6: keep hitting it, it should get stuck behind the rock and slash wildly. If it starts to run, follow and keep hitting it. Step 7: Once its unconsious, give it prime fish meat. (From the leed.) Step 8: it should tame realativly quick. Step 9: There is your very own spino! put it some where where there is no big threats. ( Allo pack, other spinos or rexes.) Make sure to whstle to stop so it doesn't follow! Step 10: find your pteranodon and fly back to your base. ( if its too high, make sure you REALLY can't get up, if so, make sure no danger is in the area, and request it, then fly back.) Step 11: Find a good spot for your spino and request it. Step 12: Name your friend, and congradgulate yourself. Hope this was helpful! ;D

These things are TERRIFYING! They chill you to the bones, make you freeze in place, petrify you. They make you forget about the berries you are gathering, or the bronto you just killed. I had 3 of these things spawn next to my house! Including a titanoboa! If you are a noob, And you see one, RUN!!
