How Spinos compare to rexes (IMO):

Spinos are better mounts than rexes, considering they are a great deal faster, more agile, and versatile on land and in water. However, due to their lower health, alpha boss fights will be considerably harder when you use Spinos instead of rexes, although Spinos have a higher DPS than rexes, with levels, rexes have significantly higher hp than Spinos, making them difficult to utilize against alpha bosses, however, from experience, the Spinos tend to do very well against gamma and beta bosses. They both have their pros and cons, but for me: Spinos for traveling and for meat runs, and rexes for boss fights.

They get distracted by EVERYTHING, so use that to your advantage, though it can be incredibly annoying when you try to kite them to a cliff.

I’ve found that the best method are tranq darts, the reload time on longnecks allows the over time effect to work most efficiently. Take a tapejara or pteranodon to a cliff and either sit on top of or latch onto a cliff, then go to town on it. Works best in one of those little river valleys, block off either side so it can’t run.

Knock them out when you are behind them.

Can easily kill Alpha Rexes when they are near the shore line (like lava on the Centre). Approach the shore at a right angle and aggro the rex, then walk backwards into the water. The alpha won't attack you but will turn back to land. Nom it a few times then rinse and repeat. Killed 3 alphas in one visit to lava with 11k health and basic saddle.

Lots of buffs in the water (can’t tell you all)

Can kill alpha raptor because of kickback easily

they are geeat tames however dododex's timer is a bit of so whait a bit longer than the timer says

You can find them in the Ragnarok map near the canyon area. Be careful when taking though for there can be nearly ten of them in the general area.

Remember don’t use raw meat. Also use tranq darts.

Place some large bear traps (~5 (depends on level)) and shoot is from a safe distance...stay close to the traps...if it‘s caught by one of them, move in position to the next trap so that it could be caught by the next one and keep shooting tranq darts or arrows...i think thats the best way for a solo tame

You need at least chitin gear so you can tank about 15 hits and if you distract it by leading to the water so it attacks fish while you can tranq it unfortunately you will need a lot of narcotics

P.S: if your on IPad you get an item that boosts taming by 10x use it for spino's

I solo tamed two at the same time...lucky for me the salmon run was going on and I was able to get slot of prim fish. It still took a ton of narcos it felt like all I was doing was feeding them narcos. On was lvl 75 the other was 55, not bad for a solo tame.
