They’re great at swimming and collecting prime meat from pacers those tall deer things big I get like 30 every time

When preparing make sure to be able to do something about him running away incredibly fast if you don't use a trap

Spinos are really good tames to have as they are fast on all fours but when on there rear legs they are a deadly Dino they are my second favourite Dino (My favourite is the argentavis). So if you are at the level where you have tranq darts and a long-neck you can tame one

This and the Rex should have a platform saddle, they’re big enough for it and it would be nice being able to make storage on their backs with box’s or make a base on their backs, or turrets to make it deal more damage while fighting hostile Dino’s

Spino’s are way better then Rex’s wether it’s damage or just mechanics, spino’s have 2 standing positions which change its stats, so that means it’s good for if you wanna fight or run, mostly you’d fight tho unless there’s a giga, and since it gets a buff if you go into the water for a second and the buff is awsome, and enhances the stats greatly

Never give up the highground to this dino if it starts running from you look twice cuz it just fooling it will come back yo 😢😢😢 be safe taming one

Ok so I had to do this cause everybody was so yea. Dudes and dudettes tame spinos if u wanna take down bosses. Really tho.they are mobile ,fast, and strongger than rexkes.How u might ask. I tried fighting a megapithecus with 10 rexes. It took 12 mins.i tried spinos it took 9 mins.So yea they are very strong and I say VERRY STRONG.Once in ark mobile I had an acsendant spino full levled it had 45,000,000 health ,dealt 800k damage and one shot a titan.Btw this is not a lie. I literally did that.I had lucky patcher hacks.😄😄

On official I tamed a 130 bye getting it in a circle of giant bear traps and repeatedly head shoting it. With a master craft long neck and tranq darts took about 5-10 head shots. Used around 700 narcotics and used exceptional kibble. Still will take 2 hours though.

If being chased don’t think going into the water or scaling a cliff is a good idea, they’re great swimmers and when on four legs and climb decently. They are distracted easily, so try to get it to agro on a herd of trikes or other herbivores and run off to a safe distance.

To perfect tame 150 on 2x tame trap it knock out feed it nothing let it wake up knock it out again give it 8 kibble it will immediately eat 4 because it was starved and 4 more bites will tame with no narc at max lvl(224)

In general, for an easy tame build a taming raft. Make sure to have a few large storage boxes filled with narcotics, few preserving bins with meat or kibble in it.

Lure any kind of creature into the raft with a flyer (pteras or argies works better).

Once trapped tranq it down, and move the raft away from the shore a bit. Not to much or you'll atract leedsythis (those giant fish-whales thingies lol)

Easy and happy taming

Hi! If you’re a beginner and want to tame a spino without a trap, heres a tutorial

1. Look for a low level spino

2. Craft 45-50 tranq arrows, 45 narcotics, and a crossbow

3. Get up somewhere high but where you can shoot at it and not get hit

4. You might miss some shots so that why I recommend crafting a lot of tranq arrows.

5. Shoot at it until it passes out, if it isn’t close do not approach! It might come closer if there’s another creature there that can get it’s attention

6. Put in 25-30 fish meat (because you might not have prime)

Watch for its torpor make sure It doesn’t wake up!

Watch out for any raptors and carnos, if you knocked it out in the water be careful with giant piranhas

And boom you have a low level spino 🗣️

Look up Captain Fatdog on YouTube for his Spino trap, it’s the cheapest and easiest I’ve used. Just 14 stone pillars, works like a charm.

If you are hunting for one make sure you have a ranged weapon so if it tries to run you can shoot it.

Ima give you a very easy knock out but will

Require the most prep work so first up you wanna build a ramp leading up to a 3ny 3 door frame stacked on top each other then load up you can use a raptor if your more comfortable with that once the spinosaurs is in the box fire at it once it’s down unconscious feed it fish meat if your spino wakes up don’t worry shoot it back down but feed it narcotics to keep it asleep

One of the more useful dinos in mid game once you unlock bow or crossbow and tranq arrows you need a Dino that you can mount with a saddle with a crap ton of health you spray at the spino once it’s down feed it fish meat and also if you have a thing that boosts taming use it it will do 60% of it done in just 30 seconds

Spinos are very very good for land travel, considering many dinos are neutral towards you while mounted, and it can move very quickly. Compared to a rex, the spino is unmatched as a travel mount.

If you are a starter and you want to tame one of these or kill one of these I recommend making a trap or manual saving your game in the files so if you die instead of going for your loot over and over again just load the saved file.

If you want to knock one out just make sure there are other creatures close. They get distracted easily and will ignore you if there’s other things to kill closer than you are. Just make sure nothing is angry at it I was taming a spino that was about 70% done until a turtle showed up that was angry at the spino and killed it
