FINDING
Spinos usually roam around rivers, specifically the ones at the Green obelisk side and also in some starting beaches, therefore eating any starting player or tame.
ENCOUNTER
Spinos are not aggresive, but they are territorial, which means that when you get close they will aggro, just like the Therizino. Do not be afraid of the Spino if you are in a good height, since they cannot climb or jump.
DANGERS
They tend to be on starting areas, tormenting any new player with his punchs and bites. Spino deals very high damage (42 on 4 feet and 60 on 2 feet) and even higher dps than a Rex due to higher DPS! they also have a lot of knockback on 2 feet, making smaller or medium tames have a hard time getting close to kill him.
PREPARING FOR TAMING
Use a crossbow. Crossbow with narco arrows is cheap, won't damage the Spino that much and also they are easier to get or find than a longneck. Anyways, both longeck and crossbow work, but crossbow is cheaper, but a bit slower than longneck. If you have a longneck with many darts, then use it. Spinos are creatures that unlike most, they prefer fish for taming. For example, raw meat gives him around 3-6 but fish meat 8-11 (this is just an example and not accurate numbers) and also with prime fish meat or normal meat. If you are rich and have exceptional kibble or argy kibble (for mobile or switch) use it.
TAMING
Keep two thing in mind when shooting Spinos. 1, they are fast. 2, they are fast. When the Spino starts to torpor run (75% torpor) they run like a Gally. You can use a trap, for example a trap with 1 behemoth stone doorframe (with door) 3 or 4 stone dino gates and 1 large bear trap. The trap works just like the giga trap (it's actually the same but made of stone) You can use this trap for rexes too. Spinos hace high hitbox, so remember to keep distance when shooting them. They are quite easy and quickly to sleep, however once asleep, they wake up. Have some narcs/biotoxin in case it wakes up. After some minutes, you will have a Spino!
UTILITY
Spinos are probably one of the most underrated ark creatures, simply because people overlook them for Rexes, but Spinos are better than Rexes and any other big predator (except for a 100% imprint max mutated Giga with meele at 300%) First, Spinos attack quicker that the Rex or Yuty, and when on two legs, their dps is actually overpowered. They also have high health, not much, not low. Second, Spinos have an underwater buff that gives them damage, speed and resistance and lasts around 25 seconds. Third, they have a lot of oxygen, making them very useful for starters ocean adventures and finally, they can farm a variety of materials that not many predators can.

More Spinosaurus Utility Tips
These are stronger than the rex, and tame one of these beasts instead of some old rex. 1. they get an underwater buff when up to mid body in the water and farther. 2. on two legs their attacks are faster and stronger then a rexes but they walk slower,and on four legs they are faster, but not as strong. If a tamed one is following you, they will do this automatically, when riding you must do it on your own. 3. They're easier to tame then a rex! So if you're debating on taming one of these bad boys, or the infamous rex, choose this dude. These beasts need more recongition.
Theyβre heavily nerfed in ASA, the bipedal stance doesnβt swing as fast as it did in ASE, making their Rexes outshine them in hp dmg and dps now.
Spinos are really, REALLY, good. First, these things can switch between standing on 2 legs(allowing them to turn on the spot, and deal more damage, but be slower, even outdamaging a rex on 2 legs) and 4 legged mode(where they will do leas damage, but be way faster, and have a huge turning radios) you cannot use the 2 legged mode underwater, only on land, underwater u can only be with 4 legged mode. If a spino enteres water(a river, lake, inside an ocean, and so on) it will get a damage buff, health regen buff, and speed buf, making it a lot stronger. The buff is permanent as long as u at least touch the water, and lasts 30 seconds outside of it. The spino is very good at traveling, as most aggresive dinos(raptors, carnos, and so on) will become neutral towards you. The spino also has great speed on all 4, is quite slow on 2 legs, and is even faster with the water buff. It is also extremely powerful.mode. It also attacks faster than a rex. The spino also harvests a ton of meat and hide.
To be strictly honest the spinosaur is one of the best mounts in game if you are even wble to obtain one be sure to make it a high level one they are very squishy at first so go around killing small dinos before attacking big prey

After taming one all I can say is that it's basically a rex but more agile.
A level thirty five spino can run from, and kill a pack of six allos with easeβ¦
TLC patch coming in March 2018 to add the ability to swap between 2 legged mode (faster attacks and ability to attack with claws) and 4 legged mode (Faster movement), as well as increased turning radius, movement speed, damage, and health regen while in water and for a short time after leaving it.
4 Legged gives hide the most, 2 Legged gives Raw meat the most.
Spinos are not only my favorite dinosaur irl, but they are my favorite mount in the game. They are agile for their size, deal tons of damage (especially when bipedal), and are so fast. If your Spino just stand in a puddle of water, it will get the hydration buff, which increases its damage by 15 percent, movement speed by 20 percent, and health regeneration by 25 percent. In the wild, they are extremely dangerous, aggroing on almost everything. However, when low on health, they will run away from a fight as a last-ditch effort to survive. Overall, even though there are faster creatures (Direwolf), creatures with more health or damage (Rex or Giga) and better creatures for diving the ocean depths (Tuso), they are the most well rounded creature to have - especially when mutated. My mutated Spino only has one useful mutation, a health mutation, but I pumped his damage so high, he is dealing over 1500 damage. I highly recommend the Spino to every survivor. It is so worth it.
