So if you want to tame it and your low level, go up high. If you can't go high (like for me lol) then get flak armor. Full set is 500 armor (even alpha raptor and therizino can't deal a lot of dmg to you with that armor)! So I see one and I went on a rock (I was scared and was far away so I often use rocks as extra range not safety). It came to me and kept moving to the point I kept missing my shots! I called mine dodger (you know why now lol). Since I had my armor though I was safe. I'm gonna test chitin armor and see how that goes wish me luck lol.

First do some lava caves and get a good ascendant crossbow and then get some tranq arrows (100 is enough) get a high hp mount like baryonyx, carno and maybe a raptor. after that you need to find one and shoot it on your mount once its unconscious (i recommend u to use 10x smoothing balm that u can get by tributing the artifact of the hunter or artifact of the massive) than put some argy kibbles, prime meat or some normal meat and boom the big boy is tamed now no one can stop u (expect gigas lol)

Spinos are the kings of versatility their decently fast and extremely strong and they also excel in gathering meat and hide

Be careful when attacking a spino. I attaked one on my wolf which was fully implanted by me. I only got a few hitsin when he went crazy. They do lots of knockback so my wolf silver was killed out from under me and I barely escaped with my life only because of a bronto standing near by that I was able to run under. Upv ote so people can know.

People say ‘build stone pillars’ but all you have to do is get up high. Now take a rifle, use drank darts (I had 24 and maybe more, but I had some leftover and some shots I missed). Also, if you are on a hill shooting the spino, make sure it can’t climb it. Start shooting, and once successfully knocked out, feed it. Raw fish meat, prime fish meat, and I believe even raw meat, and raw prime meat work (I used fish meat, so I can’t be sure about the raw meat). I used bio toxin, with does +80 torpidity, while a normal narcotic does +40. It says the bio toxin does 30 damage, but it actually doesn’t do any (I believe it only hurts humans). Once you tame the spino, I must warn you, once you are able to ride it (after crafting the saddle on a smithy), if you run over small creatures you kill them. But other than that, they are a amazing, strong, swift creature. And I really suggest taming, I was scared the first time I tried, but you’ll feel the sweet triumph after a while. If you plan on taming this, bring ALLOT extra narcotics, and when I say extra, I mean like, 100, because I had 30 bio toxin and I lost it and died because of it.

Tame 2 high lvl ones and breed them to create a monster with mutations,my spino is lvl 215 and it kills alpha raptors and carnos in secs and alpha rex in mins and i filled it some points in oxygen if killed 2 alpha megs and a alpha Mosa without taking DMG (don't try tuso u will be traumatized for life time)

Letting you know on Ark ultimate edition I tamed a lvl 20 spino with two raw prime meat. It said it would need 13, there’s nothing effecting the tame speed. Good luck taming one.

DO NOT ENTER UNDERWATER CAVES ON YOUR BELOVED SPINO, YOU WILL GET FLUNG INTO THE ABYSS. Also, make sure that if you’re doing underwater exploration on one to always have them on follow, if you don’t, they’ll fly up to the surface of the water and you’ll drown deep in the depths of god knows where, also probably keep them on passive for this reason so they don’t start attacking something while you drown like “GET BACK HERE!!!”

These guys are one of the best Offense tames. They can also be used for water combat. Their speed is also very good for a carnivore. Its attack speed is also super good. They can destroy beach noobs easily in a PvP server. They also have some knockback.

They can outrun gigas pretty easily on both land and water.

Spino spawn bugs for those who do not know if u have trouble finding a spino for days clear the fish out of the water in the spawn zones leave for 10 minutes and u will mostlikley see a spino as the spine spawns get taken up by fish strongly enough

Bring this to swamps, not only they have high torpidity incase of titanoboa but they get waterbuff so u can cross safely and if you don’t have a mount you can hide underneath it’s belly whenever it says you have entered a danger zone and not feeling like getting bitten by a krapro, press up if this was helpful :)

At least you can run from a Rex if it sees you.

Use the elixir from desmodus to get a 30% taming buff

Wild dinos ignore you while you are on it unless you attack them except if the dino is an allo, spino, rex, alpha rex, yuty, carcharo, giga, rhynio, or insect buffed megatherium which will attack on sight.

See one of these. Run. No looking at it. No trying to kill it. running is the only option that keeps you alive

Faster than a Rex, semi-aquatic, and they still do decent damage along with having the hydration buff. Great PvE travel mount (I've only ever played singleplayer). Basic square stone gateway trap, you might wanna bring 100-200 tranq arrows to be safe. Recommend to try at least once.

I used this thing to commit 5 mass swamp massacres, absolute monster, it's just too hard to find at high level

It was kind of ez for me to tame(I tamed this on aberration whilst riding ravager btw) first I went up onto a rock where the Spino cannot hit me then I shot it with traqs till it was knocked out,CARRY NARCOTICS OR BIO TOXIN!THEIR TORPOR RUNS OUT FAST! I tamed one by starving it and feeding prime it went up by around 80 smth percent then it was tamed!
