For some reason when I tried to knocking it out, it just didn't go down. I shot way more shots into it than needed and then when I command tamed it to check it out it had a max health that was half of the lowest possible option

If your fairly built up you can grab with a skiff bring it to your base.(THIS STEP IS OPTIONAL) get a friend to grapple it with a good amount of stuff on u so it can't move and shoot it in the head with the M.S.C.M attachment on a mek. This is for late game and the mek cannon know them out fast than a cannon if you play boosted would recommend.

Took me 12 rockets to knock one down. Currently taming now.

On Scorched Earth I've encountered so many of these guys that I know how to identify them, no matter where they are I can spot one from very far away.

I was literally just mining a rock and a thing came out of it and I was screaming it trough a rock at me and I died it camped my loot and I lost like journeyman stuff

These things are way to hard to get past, the just murder you over walking past them and they are hidden as a rock, make it easier to spot them by changing the rock texture a bit to a rock on the island so we can spot them
