Tips & Strategies
***Useful tips that might come in handy when attempting to tame the PyroMane!
1. PyroMane has a riding cooldown (approx.3 mins) if knocked off during the taming process.
2. If you’re wanting to use a trap, I suggest putting the trap half-in OR near some form of water. It retains the PyroMane’s doused debuff (comes in handy when kicked off multiple times & are waiting for riding cooldown).
3. Bring extra Dino’s on your hunt! (ones you’re okay with unclaiming and don’t mind having killed) This helps speed up the taming process incase wild dinos/creatures aren’t around for the PyroMane to kill. (Which happens more often than not on the Center Map since PyroManes spawn in the Volcano area)
More Pyromane Taming & KO Tips
1. Find the pyromane you want to tame
2. Let it agro on you
3. Lead it into any type of water (I’m not sure but should work with all types of water.)
4. Once you lead it into water start damaging it
5. Wait for it to do the roar animation
6.Start kill creatures with the flame attacks and keep doing this until it tames
7. Enjoy your shadowman- I mean pyromane!

Be careful when cryopoding your new pyromane if you left important gear on it expecting it to drop a bag. As of the moment the bag disappears in 0.5 seconds deleting anything in it. I hope this can help people to not lose important items.
A good strategy is to scout the area first to make sure there are some dinos around. Then find the pyromane you want damage to 50% in water and ride it when you see the roar animation. Then go attack dinos and absorb the flames. If you don't see any more dinos around but are currently attacking one. Just hit the dino so it catches flames and absorb to reset 30 sec timer, then start riding away while the dino you were attacking aggros you. As you keep riding away only turn back and hit the aggroing dino and absorb flames if your 30 sec timer is running out. Keep repeating this until you find more dinos. Rinse repeat. You need to buy a pack to tame it. If you dont have the pack you can see it, kill it and it can kill you but when you want to tame it youll need the pack. Hope this helps
On PS5 hit R1+R2 to tame it when at 100%
The extinguisher grenade works for putting out their flame 👍🏼
Don’t take these down to the bottom of the ocean as they will explode
To tame these guys you need to get them below 50% health (I might be wrong it could be lower) and apply the “doused” effect to them, which you can do simply by having it rain or putting it in water
After that you must ride the Pyromane and fight creatures/absorb fire (ctrl + right click, and I think L1 R2 for console)
Upon riding you’ll notice a timer, this is until your are dismounted and put at risk of attack from the Pyromane however it will reset upon killing a enemy or absorbing fire (unsure about killing enemy)
This creature can be a difficult and confusing tame however it is worth it
If you have a Wyvern, build a pen and go grab small animals with your wyvern and drop them in the pen, then once you are riding the Pyro to tame, jump in the pen and it’s free eats.

R2 attak
R1+L2 return fire, restore health
Hold R1 press R2 to finish tamming then bar on 100%
