Its not a great animal but a pooping machine i suggest using it for farms and giving it berries and you get poop

You need A LOT of berries.Like A LOT they eat FAST. Alao corner is to make it easier to knock out

Here's how to tame a phioma:

1. Bring some bolas

2. After you find a phioma, throw the bola at it

3. Then start hitting it with a club, or shoot at it with a tranquilizing ammo like tranq arrows or certain darts.

4. Keep hitting it until it's knocked out. After it's knocked out, feed it berries, veggies, or preferred kibbles.

Ok this is one of the best things you can tame 1.bola it

2. Knock it out with a club hit it on the head mainly

3. Tame it with berries

4. Feed it a bunch of stimberries the white ones and they’ll poop a bunch, it’ll help with crops you can get so much of it done

This is better as a way to get meat and hide early game trust me my guys and gals 73 freaking hide from 20 hide !!!

I forgot to read the tips before taming it, so my tip after getting disappointed:

Tame it if you need to make fertilizers other wise it's useless(so dont get it early game as you wont even have the proper crops growing engrams). At first i was angry at it because it does nothing except popping.

Taming it is extremely easy as it just needs berries.

If you want a resourse gathering dino, then get a Moschops, as it is best for collecting berries and thatch, and a little bit of wood. You cant ride it but just put at Wandering and it will go collect resources.(look up Moschops guide for more)

Or a Triceratops, you can ride it and smash trees for thatch and wood, and plants for berries. (Look up Triceratops guide for more)

Can gather thatch and wood as a starter mount, not on the gather efficiency list

I recommend getting 10-100 and getting 10-100 dung beetles i recommend using bola and club/slingshot to knock out and use the best things you can feed to the phiomia

Easy tame is surprisingly fast in water if you have a compost bin or dung beetle you have infinite fertilizer because these things poop a lot

Pump points into food. When you force-feed it stimberries, having a larger Reservoir to draw from makes it so you can produce more poop each time.

I just caught one today! I trapped it with the Bola,then hit her with the club until she went down, after that it was easy giving her the berries needed to tame it

No need to chase them around the swamp. Craft a bola and knock them out. Easy as 1 2 3.

Easy to tame, breed and raise young. Great for poop, meat and hide source! If you can get a few females you can have lots of babies with just one male. Make sure they're by the feeding trough when it's time for birth and make sure you have a bunch of food (kibble/berries) to feed the babies asap. You'll have a phiomia army/meat factory in no time!

If you pump only speed and get a high level, these things are pretty good for scouting and such. Decent swimmer, too

These guys are chill and great traveling buddy's I named mine fatty and they protect you well

If you want to tame one but don’t want to go to the swamp, find them in the southern islets. I find them there. Click the happy arrow so noobs can see. You can craft a saddle at level 10 and use this as a mount, but be warned, the stamina runs dry fast when you are riding it and sprinting. Or you can feed it stimberries to make it poop.
