Use two people, use a Rhynoganthia and move it to a safe area. One person tranq it on a griffon if possible or quetz, hop off and ride it when it’s stunned. Second person grab your bird tame while you ride it. Rhynoganthia can move any large enemies or pickup the ossidon if he’s being destroyed. When he’s hurt stand next to a dead body and he will eat it and heal.

To tame these guys is the most annoying thing ever. But Ima tell you how. So first get something that does high torpor. Next find the one you want to tame. Shoot it with whatever you have for torpor till it’s stunted (when it’s stunted it will rock back and forth with cartoonish circles around its head). Then ride it. As you are riding it makes a slime ball. With the slime ball you will pick up the icicles that it shoots out. As you pick them up with it it gives taming. But you have two minutes before it kicks you off. But you lose no taming when kicked. It will take a couple of times before it’s tamed.

How to tame the ossidon:

1: craft around 150 tranq darts

2: find your ossidon

3: shoot the ossidon with the tranq darts until it becomes dizzy(blue stars will go around its head and it will stop attacking)

4: immediately ride/mount it

5: it will start creating a snowball of mucus, when it does this it will start spitting out icicles run over the icicles in order to gain taming percentage; you have 2 minutes each ride

6: repeat the process until it’s 100 percent!

Tips : if you run into the smallest wall it will forcefully launch you off

I recommend using a pyromane to tank the damage as it hits you

Avoid its icicles and ball running away from it no matter what, even if you are on a tame stay far away

Ok - gonna be a long one. First, pay attention to level as you would with any other tame to get the one you want. Try to isolate your ossidon - this will be difficult because he attacks nearly everything. You will have to tranq it. Asc level rifle and regular tranq darts will work but take more. Once he is sufficiently tranqed, blue stars will revolve around his head. You only have a few moments to then jump on his back and begin rolling around a bolus. You have to roll the bolus over the icicles he shoots AND try to pick up smaller creatures in the bolus. Each of these adds to the overall taming. Continue to roll around until the timer expires and you'll be thrown off. Best option is then to kill any strong creatures around the ossidon so it doesn't die. Let him kill weaker creatures to get his life back and repeat tranqing. Continue this process until tamed.

Tranq to 50%, approach and ride it, walk over ice Spears with ball to 50 to gain taming effectiveness. After timer repeat by tranqing until you can ride again. BE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO AGRO EVERYTHING AS IT WILL DIE.

try to do it out in the open, and don't break the ball by hitting something.

Passive tame

Get torpor to half, while it is dazed mount it.

It will make a mucus ball, when it spits out its ice spears roll over them to gain taming effectiveness and taming percentage. Will take a few times.

Rinse and repeat. Maybe have parachutes or tek boots for when you get thrown off.

Enjoy your new Ossidon.

Hit it till it’s dazed and then roll the other Dino’s in the snowball

You tame them by getting them two half torpor press E (square or x) on console to ride and collect the needed Dino’s in the snow ball while collecting the ice spikes he spits out

Tranq it till it stops jump on it and roll the ball till it shoots spikes out run over spikes till timer runs out rinse and repeat till tamed

Shoot it with tranqs until the blue halo shows then roll dinos into a snowball. Good luck!

Tranq it down to 50% torpor, then mount it and roll the biggest snowball of your life! (include ice spikes/patches and other dinos in the ball to sucessfully tame)

Tranq it till it gets dazed, then ride it while rolling up small dinos to increase tame percent. Rolling up dinos that are too big knocks you off

In solo, should be doable with a solwyn, you could tranq it while on ice bridge

You can defeat one using call friends whistle with veilwyns.

Bring a snow owl and heal the ossi if it's health gets low. Remember to bring med brews, trust me you'll need them. Focus on the icicles first, then get the small dinos. When tranqing it, do it while on a desmodus. When it's dazed fly close and jump of desmo right on its back and mount. Takes a bit of time to tame but don't give up, you'll get one.

It has a Drag weight of 550, which is the same as a Rex. This means Rhyniognatha should be able to carry it. Could be useful for taming it so you can bring it to a safer location

Alright friends first review and taming of the ossidon.

1. Shoot it till it gets to Half torpor (Usually 6-10 shots with tranq darts).

2. Ride it around hitting all the spikes and rolling over all the dinos it tells you to the left and right of the taming bar.

3. Make sure to kill all dinos bigger than an argy.

4. If you have a tribemate have them clear the road of big dinos including yutys they will stop the ball from rolling.

5. Make sure to kite ossi into an area full of corpses to get it's health back to full.

6. Shoot all over again to half torp.

7. Rinse and repeat and enjoy your new metal monkey.

8. Oh last but not least in order to get it to 100% taming you have to try and get both spikes and ball tames all the way up to max.

So far I’ve found using a Long neck and tranq darts to get it to the point where it starts to stumble and a blue ring appears over its head. Once it does that you hop on and ride it smashing these ice crystals that it shoots out. You also have to roll smaller creatures inside the giant ball of poo it rolls. The higher the level the Ossidon the more Ice crystals you have to smash and more creatures you have to roll up. I found that a level 35 I had to smash 18 crystals and roll up 8 creatures. Once you do that it pops you off and you have to repeat the process. You only have 1:50 to ride it around regardless of level
