What is a megatherium used for? megatherium battling strategies in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
Think of your favorite tame... that was cute. Introducing you to your new favorite tame, GOD... I mean megatherium. Sorry, with one kill of a bug they are very hard to tell apart. You remember waking up on the beach naked and running away from those drones? Yeah, now they will have nightmares of a big ass sloth frothing at the mouth for their demise. Giga making you worry next door? Nothing a Megatherium or 20 and some bug crack can’t fix. I promise you getting one of these changed my life. Collects Chiton pretty good I guess. If pretty good is you throwing out 16K cause you’re slot capped. Your future daughter will call this tame daddy, if you already have a daughter... you should have had a son.
I dont know about the guy that says wild dinos ignore you while you are riding megatherium but thats only half of the fact. They ignore you once you have the increased dmg against bugs buff which will appear as a sap icon once you kill at least 1 bug. Only then wild dinos will ignore you. As long as the buff is active the dinos will ignore you.
Megatheriums are one of if not the absolute best way to defeat the Brood Mother, for instance it can easily obliterate any and all cave dwellers that guard the artifacts necessary to summon this demonic demigod. It also receives a damage boost when they kill any invertebrates and therefore, it is essential to use in the boss fight. When paired up with a Yuti and Deadon these killing machines are completely unstoppable; although, I’d recommend both high levels and great saddles.
Please like to help those of whom are planning on beating the Brood Mother.
You know how this is good for broodmother? So why tame 17 or 18, just tane 1, then clone 16 or 17 times! Not grinding food to tame, just saddles. It's super safe, EZ as pie! Hope this helps you like it did me. (If you don't got the tek cloning machine engrams, ask a friend or locals, say you are fighting broodmother, or just tame 17 or 18, but cloning takes a few hours, so your pack might be ready by tomorrow.)
Ah yes, the good ol bug eater. But can it eat bugs as much as we expect? Today I will test that out to fight the gamma, beta and alpha broodmothers! By the way the megatheriums aren’t mutated and are level 430-470
Gamma: Set them to aggresive for bug buff. Oh boy, soon they started SHREDDING the big spider. It died in about 1 minute and 30 seconds,
Beta: At about half hp she killed just one of them, but overall she died without any more casualties.
Alpha: Yknow the drill, aggresive. But she was pretty fast so the megatheriums got the bug buff early. But then she killed 3 at the SAME TIME. Things went pretty downhill from there. The megatheriums got her to 1/4th hp, but soon they were all mowed down.
So, what do i think? I think that megatheriums are really good for the broodmother! And keep in mind, these were UNMUTATED megatheriums.
It's great at collecting berries, fiber and chitin from insects/bugs. He also doesn't collect charcoal from the burnt trees near the volcano in ragnarok anymore. Great for fighting broodmother and doing artifact runs on the island and caves that are filled with insects. Definitely worth taming
I haven’t tried this myself but if you get a Megatherium and a Beelzebufo and set the Megatherium to aggressive on some bugs and set it to don’t harvest victims you can use the Beelzebufo to harvest them and get a lot of cementing paste you could just use the Beelzebufo but I think the combo is better
First tip please try it and let me know if it’s more effective than Beelzebufo itself
