Megatheriums are one of the best terrestrial creatures in ark for literally everything and you can’t change my mind about that:

They’re infamous for their bug-slaying capabilities. If these guys kill a bug, literally any bug that’s strolling about on the beach, they do almost three times as much damage, making them perfect for chitin harvesting, Deathworm hunting, most caves, the Broodmother battle, and maybe even a few on the side in the Manticore battle (for the Deathworms).

Not only can Megatheriums pack a punch, but they can take one too. Megatheriums are relatively tanky creatures, having a little less health than a Therizino at base level. They can also regain this health quickly if you sit them down. Let the little guys rest after a hard battle and they’ll be back to full health in no time. Megatheriums are also considered primarily herbivorous (even though it’s easier to tame them with meat? Okay…), meaning veggie cake helps health regen for these guys as well. Since Megatheriums are considered primarily herbivorous, they also take reduced damage from fire which could be an upper hand in the Dragon arena.

Megatheriums also have a huge rider safety advantage; most creatures remain completely docile if you are riding this trusty mount. This is perfect for caves where you may want to remain undetected, or just simply safely traversing the map without unnecessary conflict!

These big chonky sloths are also surprisingly fast for their size, but not too fast that maneuvering them takes slowing down. They’re also the perfect size for most caves, requiring a little bit of in and out cryopod work in some scenarios, but for the most part, a wonderfully-sized mount. You can sit in their saddle and you do not take fall damage while dismounting.

I realize that this is an opinion-based point, but they’re also adorable. Their cute little ears, the raw they sit, the way their tail waggles when they move, their little noses. Everything. You literally cannot change my mind.
