If the manta chases you get on a raft or a rock that goes above water.

I hate these guys. i was trying to tame an ichty and I got one but as soon as I got to shore a gang of about 4-6 high level mantas attacked my Ichty. my ichty was low level so it had low health so the mantas killed it. They damaged my raft quite a bit as well. I got revenge by killing all of them with my ascendant bow. I especially hate them because I also had an ascendant ichty saddle with my ichty and I couldn’t find the item cache that had it. I’d recommend you killing them with a powerful ranged weapon from out of the water because they are very agile and powerful and can easily kill you when you are underwater. Also forgot to mention,they also almost killed my trike that was waiting on shore.

Passive my ass. These things will come at you no matter what. Just avoid them. Or use a baryonxy tail spin until they die.

Oddly, if you apply bug repellant to yourself and your mount, mantas won't aggro on either of you as easily.

It killed me 16 times stay away unless you have a bow

Fast, armed with an armor piercing barb, capable of jumping and easy to breed, Mantas are the best scout mounts and bodyguards a player may have. As a bonus it is also possible to stand atop of them.

Their only drawback is not allowing the use of weapons by their riders, a trait existent on the similar speed oriented Ichthyosaurus.

Their damage gain per point spent after tamed is also about half the usual (and similar to the Giganotosaurus). However, given their high base damage, ability to (greatly) ignore armor, small turn radius, and poor health scaling, leveling Melee Damage still proves to be the best option for combat Mantas.

What I like about them is they are really fast and what you need to do is just level up it’s health and stamina and Weight and sometimes it’s speed but it is really cool to have them

When you get off it, it will spring forward a few yards. So do not discount near land

Use bug repellent so it does not agro or you can trap it with pillars or on the shore

It does eat raw fish. I looked everywhere and it said it just eats angler gel. But I just put the fish in and it started eating lol.

Think I hate these more than dilos and compy taming

Taking it is actually pretty easy,just ride on your pelagornis and slowly start feeding it angler gell(which can be found in snails on mobile)make sure it’s near shore and away from predators!(like other mantas)its a passive tame so make sure not to get killed in the process

Mantas eat angler gel but when tamed they eat meats like other carnivorous

I tamed one with only 9⅞ AnglerGel. Up if you have or tamed one with less!

You have 2 ways (by what i know) to tame it. The first and easiest way is to tame an ichty, because it doesn't get agro, then grab some angler gel and tame the manta.

The other way is to use a bug repellent and feed it the gels.

After tamed, you can feed it meat.

Place a stone foundation then 4 stone door frames and a hatch frame on top get it to agro onto you and use the structure as a sort of shark cage if it goes away just reapt it getting agro on you
