If a Manta attacks in open water, swim upward as it approaches and strike down with a spear or pike to stay above its attack range. They are extremely fast, can bypass armor, and often swarm, so avoid fighting them on foot when possible; use a strong ranged weapon from shore or a capable aquatic mount instead. Keep tames away from them and scout the water before crossing.
