These things are so good for 2 things:

1. travel purposes

2.killing megalodons

If you only upgrade their melee damage they'll mash that megalodon in BITES

A quick guide for all the ark mobile players out there :)

Taming - Easy. You just need 5-7 meat for lower levels. It’s a passive tame, and i recommend you do the taming in shallow area free of mantas and megalodons.

Use - It is a good mount for travelling across beaches and moving to different places. It also makes a good mount for leading a swarm.

Stats - It has good health compared to similar sized dinos, good stamina, high speed, and average damage. If a seasoned player rides an ithcy, it can take on a megalodon (because the megalodon AI is garbage) with ease.

Saddle-making - A bit expensive compared to standard saddles. It uses 10 raw metal so keep it in mind.

It is a very viable early game tame and can be taken on expeditions for oil and other materials

Speedy boi go so fast, Get Megalodons distracted by a turtle or something and poke them with that needle nose.

Very good for gathering resources such as slica pearls and oil. They can also be used as a getaway Dino if u are raiding

They can collect black pearls from what I know on mobile

I dont know why alot of people are saying other water dinos dont attack this dino this is false everything shy of turtles and small fish attack you so always be aware of your surroundings. Also this dino is the fastest water dino so lvl stam and speed. Side note you will not win a fight against anything on this dino it is for traveling in water only. Stay away from all water dinos.

Make shure that you tame one pf these because they are extremely fast and the do a lot of damage. I named mine Speedy and he can kill everything that‘s on his path.

Mobile players, if you breed them, almost anything will agro them and they will lose the stealth ability

These guys are fast I tamed one on the other side of the island and my base was on the other side once I crafted a saddle it took 5 mins to get back to base.

The ichthy is super fast in water when tamed but slow in the wild when you ride it all water creatures in the area become passive

I have too many of these. They are fun. I got my first one then my second then my third and fourth and so on. I have 8. I love them. My favorite dino is spino but these are so fun.

These guys are super fast and strong I use 6 ichty and it kills the high level megalon around lv 20-30 about 4-5 secs

ONLY MOBILE PLAYERS WILL NOT BE AGROED WHILE RIDING, PC AND XBOX ETC WILL STILL BE ATTACKED

If it get it stuck on land use a kapro to get it back in the water

ON MOBILE if you ride one nothing attacks you unless you attack it

Great scout for creature taming. And you can use the spy glass while mounted

Don’t miss click and punch them wile trying to feed them fish.
