I think these have some terrible melee dmg and weight. Make sure to tame a high level one and most importantly, make sure to level up:

Weight- They have really low

Melee damage- They also have really low

Stamina- So you can escape from creatures easily

Food- So they will not get hungry very easily

These are extremely useful for underwater tasks. They're faster than almost all of the game's underwater dinos and they are really easy to tame! DO NOT CRAFT A SADDLE- You get an ASCENTANT one after you complete the "Tame: Ichtyosaurus" pursuit! From my point of view, they are also helpful in finding underwater caves!
