My most hated creature I lost a lot of potential tames to these. I hate that they are hella opportunistic, they try to attack me every time I get off my thezi, but when I get on they run. I just find the to be malevolent.

Very easy to breed. Make excellent cave divers. Alpha does over 1000 dmg per bite with 800% melee and a +4 pack bonus and mate boosted and petted.

Do NOT wear a shoulder pet while taming. They can detect tames, and will run!

Hyaenodons are opprotunists, meaning if they have an opprotunity to get a quick, free meal, they'll take it. Corpses? Heck yeah. Low HP? Yup.

Do NOT make trap high three walls just make it one wall high and then put sloped roof on top of it so they cant jump out

You can find them in the city on extinction

Always stay crouched while taming. And never get close enough to touch it. While following the Hyaenodon, if the Hyaenodon ever stops, its very likely it will turn and start to walk in a different direction; so be aware that it might walk in your direction. Then back straight up... over and over again... and eventually you’ll tame one. Hope this helps. :)

They're like a fridge, only it moves drools eats and kills. U NEED TO TAME THEM

Just did the ice cave on the island with 8 of these. It was a cake walk. They took on 20+ bats at once. Hard to get them in and out the cave though.

These things will only attack if they are in a pack of 4 or more.

How to make a meat farm!

Step 1: tame a pack of hyaenadons

Step 2: equip them all with meat packs

Step three: put them all in an enclosed space and set to aggressive and wandering

Step 3: use an argy or something to pick up creatures like dodos and lystros

Step 4: sit back and watch the carnage

Keep doing this every so often and later when you need meat or hide check the hyaenadons inventories.

I put them in a place where trilobites spawn often as well so it was also a chitin farm.

Easy guide;

1. Grab the strongest one in the pack with a flyer.

2. Bring it to an area clear of anything.

3. Pet it multiple times.

You can find these cute little guys on beaches near the snow.

They're in the top 10 hardest to tame

These guys seem to only target dead or unconscious creatures. Please surround any tames in progress with spike walls so that a pack of these jerks won't come out of the woodwork & ruin your taming effectiveness 😑

Leave these on aggressive in your base I you have a couple of high lvls someone raiding your base will be in for a very unpleasant surprise

When you ask them to follow you they tend to stay closer to your character then other Dino's making them better for caves, and they can act like a mobile fridge.

you can find these guys on mobile in ultimate mobile edition!! i found a pack of these guys near north, but i was there for a couple argies so i didnt tame any, but i will be going back soon to get one or two!

If you can try and to lead them to a deep place of water since they will swim above the water and then just pet them from underneath you will be able to tame more too because the are unable to swim fast

It's a passive tame just creep up on one that's alone and it'll give you to pet it and once per enough it's yours if you want to ensure the tame get ghile armor
