With the Griffen you can dive onto a enemy and click before you land it does loads of damage 5x as much the higher you go the more damage it does.

Watch out for the lag spikes when getting wyvern eggs. Lost my favorite griffin named hank cause i dove and thought i pulled up but it put me in the water and wyverns killed both my griff and i.

Build a 4x4 trap with stone gates adjacent to each other, and stone door frames on the other. Lure them in, shut the door. I've tamed 6 in 2 days. Also dive bomb attack does 4X damage multiplier, dive down and pull up right before you hit the ground, basic attack does 10-15X damage multiplier. Insane damage.

They are the fastest creatures on the ark.Its a good acquisition

During 3x two buddies and I just used tranqudarts on Desmodus and after some back and forth we got it. Afterwards the guy is nerfed as hell. Still super fast, but we got basically a perfect 150 with ideal stats and it can't hit worth shit. Barely took on an Alpha Carno. Buyers Remorse. Up this to hopefully update the Griffin to be more worth. Rip.

I heard they got nerfed a few years ago(I'm new in ark) was it super bad?

Griffins don’t have the best attack but there good at every thing else

I suggest finding and taming a low level Griffin first, having a Griffin makes taming other Griffins easier since you can keep up with them while they flew and still shoot tranqs at it.

The griffin is the best fly combat and the ground combat and for travel in ground and air I recommend taming in mid game

These guys have pretty low health once tou tame them (on Xbox, at least.) So, once you finally tame one, be sure to upgrade their health and stamina because it's pretty horrible at first. Also, you can't upgrade their speed, so I suggest taming a higher level griffin if you want a faster mount.

Don't ask to breed just alone them

The griffin is basically useless outside of its speed. They nerfed its health and melee into the ground and also gave it a 10% stamina reduction. Good for stealing wyvern eggs and nothing else except cruising around and sightseeing.

DIVE DOES NOT WORK ON EXTINCTION, but the snow owls can!? Ah, frustrating couple hours, thankfully it’s a 2x event. Cryopod leveling until I figure out what to do lol.
