These guys have pretty low health once tou tame them (on Xbox, at least.) So, once you finally tame one, be sure to upgrade their health and stamina because it's pretty horrible at first. Also, you can't upgrade their speed, so I suggest taming a higher level griffin if you want a faster mount.

Build a 3 by 3 stone pillar taming pen that is 2 pillars high. Put one pillar (2 high) in the middle with and leave one side open (without one 2 High pillar) to kite the griffin in. Lead the griffin under the ceiling and into the pillars with a pteranadon (which can fly through pillars) and place pillars behind him to trap.

If you use a crossbow to tame these beasts, PACE YOUR SHOTS! The last two I tamed came within one arrow of death when they finally fell. The best way to tame them is to go to the desert and grab all the red crates, hoping for an ascendant longneck. Also, my perfect (semi)Universal trap is 5x3 foundations and ceilings, stone Dino gates on the 3 wide end, and thirty pillars, three high in the center of each border foundation on the long side.

The griffin is basically useless outside of its speed. They nerfed its health and melee into the ground and also gave it a 10% stamina reduction. Good for stealing wyvern eggs and nothing else except cruising around and sightseeing.

If you have a rly good bp or teir of a longneck or a cross bow use it on this with a cross bow that was on its dark blue trier wasn’t hard only took like 30 shots but u have to chase it with a fast tame or Tek stuff

Pretty easy to tame once trapped. Crystal isles has a trench in the desert full of them, though I would recommend if you are new to taming one look for a good level not a nice looking one. Made that mistake twice to many times. There quicker and easier to knockout with shocking tranquilizing darts. Once knocked out feed it prime, and it will be tamed in under 10 minutes (depending on what your server stats are keep in mind). Good look to all of you.
