If you want a charging station for batteries, you either find one or put a battery into these guys. Try to trap a bunch of them in a enclosure and you will have a charging station next to your base. A substitute choice, just make a base next to a charging station

similar to jug bug in scorched earth up if u think they should add the jug bug
I think they are immortal, right?
You can put them in a wood cage. Hence free light. Just not sure if or when they despawn.
put. charge pet on your should IEbulbdog,featherlight,glowtail,glowhorn. and press e on the bug your pet will take up to 500 of the bugs charge a charge batery in your inventory works also.
its also a good early game chitin and meat.

should be able to be captured in jars for light
I got a stone box full of these glow bugs and when I need charge I they give it to me and they recharge eventually and theyβre in my base no more charge nodes
Kill it for chitin and charge.
