Their are very useful to get across rivers but make sure to have parachutes

They are often found in places like a mountain or something. Make sure no hostiles are nearby and sneak up to it in a Ghille suit and feed it some kibble! They are like the mesopethicus but instead of running away from you they start attacking you. If they do start attacking you, I suggest it is time to hop on your Ptera or Argy and find another one.

If you lost your Dino, just request them on mobile. If you play the pc version, you can use the so called ark-tools. If you type that into your favourite search engine you also might stumble across a version with GUI. If you really want to get your beloved pet back - that is the way to go.

Don’t see it in the tips nor what it gathers but I could’ve sworn you could get raw meat from animals you killed by standing over it and hitting the “gather fiber” button.

It is not friendly... Do not stand by it after feeding it...

Make a 4by2 little wood or stone house (suggested argy to pick up and put in)and trap it in there every 30-50seconds maby and soon it'll be yours

Easiest thing to do to take this dude is:

1. Get a few wooden signposts

2. Make a square or triangle with them. (Optional, but harder (skips step 3): do this while the 'pithecus is walking around)

3. Use argy to carry into signpost trap

4. Feed it

5. TAMED!!!

You can do cave stuff like getting artifact do i it’s worth it and you can get. More exp for killing them

Having a light pet on the shoulder of one of these guys provides infinite charge light, as in, the charge capacity of a light pet never goes down.

Gigantopithecus is really useful here's a useful tip for beginners if you set them to wondering near some bushes they will collect berries and fiber. So no need to get fiber and yout welcome.

3. Feed him once.

4. Go do some other stuff (Food will drop now)

5. Come back and feed him crouching trough the door frame. He will not agro.
