Utility Tips

What is a giganotosaurus used for? giganotosaurus battling strategies in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
Tame a lvl 150 breeding pair with highest possible taming effectiveness, get them to max level, breed them, get the baby to 100% imprinting, get the what was the baby to max level, get the parents to give it mate boost, and attempt to kill a titanosaur! (Give them ascendant saddles for high armor and give the what was the baby a bionic costume!) A full imprint max level giga can kill a titanosaur so long as it has high armor saddles!
Not worth taming, yeah they’re cool to tame but honestly a waste now that carchar exists. One kentro or player that’s a bit out of reach and it’s all over.
[Essay warning]
A bad giga is just a good Rex, so it’s not worth your time trying to get a bad one, aim the highest you can (and still learn carchars don’t crash out over a little bit of damage).
Now before you clutch your pearls, think about it..
Carchars are significantly cheaper, any two Rexes to get any baby Rexes, cryo them (if not, just be fast abt it), kill the babies with a shotgun, feed just one to the carchar, then kills stuff, and repeat.
Gigas cost significantly more materials, although their traps are fairly cheap (Captain Fatdog traps are best), the amount of tranquilizers you will need to get a giga that isn’t just Rex 2.0 will completely kill your wallet. And now you have a ticking timebomb until a raptor or a random kentro sneaks in and makes it kill your tames.
Although, I think it’s best we keep gigas wild and carchars tamed.
Gigas serve as a genuine big threat, even to more advanced players, with their high attack and health, they can certainly be a challenge to take down. Ark doesn’t have many naturally spawning threats, and simply looking at any tab on this app under the giga— it’s mainly just players saying to “bola ur friend and run.”
Giganatosaurus are not worth taming for their utility, and I’ve even heard that it MIGHT’VE not been intended by the developers to players to actually tame it, and was meant to just be an all around terrifying beast.
(And then extinction puts a billion of them as an untamable variant and other overpowered creatures on the way to a boss fight terminal so like good luck.)
In conclusion, maybe tame them anyways they’re cool to own, just maybe keep them a bit farther away from your other tames.. just in case.
A must have tame. A pretty much end-game tame. This beast itself is a symbol of strength. If you want one, look for the highest one. Pay attention to giga that's at least above lvl 100 (if max level capped at 150) don't waste your time and energy on giga lower than 90.
Tame this beast only after you have enough eggs to make 10 exceptional kibbles and have a bunch(about 3-4ish) of 140%+ damage crossbows ( there is a chance you will get rewarded of them after defeating the alpha variant of carnivores).
A lot of preparations you have to consider before start shooting tranq arrows on it
You gotta cage the giga within 4 METAL dino gateways. Luring them in is not much of a problem. After you done it, next:
I recommended bring about 4 crossbows that are 140+% in damage to shorten the taming time.
Prepare around 500-600 tranq arrows close to the taming site.
Bring your exceptional kibble.
Prepare about 300 narcoberries if you are using exceptional kibbles, bring a lot of narcotics if you are taming it with prime meats.
Clear all the predators around you in that region so you can shoot the giga with no disturbance.
Have enough food and water ready to get you full before shooting
Start shooting the giga on its head at 04:00 a.m.
Shooting at the dark only makes it a lot harder and risky
I got one of these yesterday and man do I love them if you have one tamed the only things can kill it is a titano and wild Giga and you will never have to worry about meat or something raiding your base ever agian but taming them is one of the hardest things to do and if one comes to your base you can kiss your base and tames good bye
So here's a (untested, just hypothysising here) raid strat:
Tame giga: any lvl works
Hop on giga WITH NOTHING THATS IMPORTANT
Bring giga into enemy base
Fight to rage or death, rage preferably
Once rage let it, well, RAGE, don't send anything in
I it dies, either send more throw aways, or rinse and repeat
If it doesn't, you win!
