I’m about to go tame my first Giga. My idea is to hop on my Quetz with a platform saddle, dismount and stay on the saddle, and shoot at the giga until I’m able to knock him out. Hoping this works

Here’s what you need. Not too heavy resources needed.

5-6 metal gateways

200+ tranq arrows (Ascendant crossbow)

Babies in cryopod for prime meat

3-4 large bear traps

Lots of Biotoxin

Lure the giga to the trap with a flier and make sure it gets stuck. Then you wanna place the final gateways behind it to trap it. It might seem way too large for the regular Dinogates but it can’t get out. After you knock it out, you can uncryo the babies, unclaim them and have your flier kill it for prime. Should be smooth sailing from there!

I tried trapping mine with less than 5 gates and it decided to drown itself. I recommend kiting the giga away from the water since it’s too stupid to realize it’s gonna drown while it’s asleep. Lesson learnt. At the price of my sanity and time at 4 am. 💀

Here is a pearl of wisdom that I wish I was given when I tamed a giga:

Don't use three metal dino-gates, use four!

You make a U shape with three and put a large bear trap in the middle.

You then lure the giga onto the bear trap and place the final Dino-gate behind it to trap it.

Everyone says that you can use three metal Dino-gates but you really want to use four when you are being chased by the most terrifying creature on the island.

When taming a Giga it's torpor drops in 2min so wait til it's torpor is at about 4,000 then pump a several hundred Narcotics all at once. 100 Narc = 4,000 torpor. It takes longer for the torpor to rise than it does to drop. Took mine 30min to go from 4,000 torpor back to max.

Once you think you’ve made enough tracks to tame one, trust me and make more bc these things tank

The numbers they give you are way off. If it says 500 dart's take 1000 or 1500 just to be sure.

do NOT underestimate the torpor drop of this guy.

it's easy for mobile(old) just place the metal gate (the smaller not behemoth gate) just place 4 if it's on flate areas but for safety bring 6 or 7 and also they didn't need 100 narcotic 50 is enough if you have soothing balm 15 and i recommend use argy because it can craft something on it and Gigas won't attack while you're land with argy besides it(unless you attack or unride you're argy by accidentally) just that tip's for me goodluck and it's for mobile only i didn't try at new mobile but hope it's still work

Bring double the amount of arrows or darts Dododex tell you to bring

I recommend using a trap, I learnt the hard way

It makes it a lot easier to tame when it's tamed on 2x weekend !

Since the calc doesn’t show darts for some reason... A 150 took 200 darts from a 177 longneck. Hope this helps someone

If you want this weapon of mass destruction I’ll give tips:

You’ll need:

-A trap bc this thing is actually hard to hit without a trap.( I used 4 metal gates but any trap that’s big enough works)

-Your KO weapon(it doesn’t have to be a longneck, crossbow worked fine)

Now you know what you’ll need, let’s get to taming.

1. find a giga.

Gigas are basically ONLY found in mountains or snow and you’ll know it when you see one.(they are bronto-sized rexes)

2. Set up the trap.

A preferred place to set the trap is on any sort of flat ground, lead the giga in. If it doesn’t get stuck, the trap doesn’t work or you’re just skill issue.

3. KO the giga.

This should be easy but will take awhile. Don’t stop shooting because it’s torpor drops fast.

4. Feed it.

You can starve it or give it prime(don’t ask where raw meat went)it’s up to you, give it 100 biotoxin when it’s on low torpor and you’re set.

Now you have machine of death. It wasn’t that hard wasn’t it?

Update from last time:

Sadly black pearl died, I lost stam so I was resting on a hill when the giga (10 for sure) sprinted over and killed us.

Now, I have the trap and the arrow.

The giga’s gonna be mine soon.

On the island where do high level pts spawn? Unrelated but very hard to find 130+ pts really

With the proper technique, it's a long, but easy tame ;

1rst step : tame a scorpion, or arthropleura from within the caves (really important)

Imprint the MD as much as possible, until you'd find the gigano

Use the not-an-insect-even-though-every-one-say-they're-bugs, to attack the big one (he won't agro on you, unless you dismount)

Between each attacks, wait few seconds, until he'd recove 1hp

After a long while, he's knocked out, just bring him food... & Narcotics 👍

Y'all this "passive to all tames" stuff does not work on ultimate mobile edition, so don't try to trap a giga by going up to it with a galliminus nd placing 4 metal gateways like i tried.

If on the island they are most common in the volcano this means you don’t need a trap because you can either fly up to the rim of the volcano and shoot tranqs from there which is the easier option or block of the one entrance to the volcano using metal dino gateways and shoot from the other side. Aldi if there’s any unwanted things in the volcano just fly them into the lava to kill them. :) plz up my first tip . Oh and make sure you have at least 250 narcotics and 150 trans darts 👌
