Fun fact: on mobile, the giga is neutral to tames.

I found this out when i was trying to wipe out some guy's tames in my server with a wild giga but the giga just stood there, and just wandered.

it applies when you are riding mounts too (for example, quetzal, galliminus, equus, argentavis*)

*that one guy who said that their argy ran out of stamina and landed next to a giga, if you're on mobile, that's perfectly fine since the giga is neutral to tames.

What me and my friend did to tame ours was he carry me on a argentavis and fly abit high so he can’t eat you and shoot tranq darts at him (took us about 300)

A good way or my way of taming a giga

First, get a ascendant Longneck.

Second, get some tranquilizer darts.

Third, get 4 metal gates to trap the giga and some bear

traps.

Fourth use soothing balm if your on mobile.

Fifth, use an argy to find one ( they usually spawn up in the mountains or on flat surfaces in the mountains

Sixth, use prime meat, Queztal kibble ( on mobile ) or, regular meat.

And abracadabra you have your self a giga Goodluck on trying this method.

Take a crossbow with some grabs hooks and then you hook. Hook yourself up to its ass and knock it down

I use 4 metal dino gates to trap. Put 3-4 in place of choice (clear carnivores before in the area), leave a gap for giga to enter, then put 1-2 bear traps in the middle. the last dino gate put once giga is in bear trap. i use thylacaleo to lure giga in the trap. thyla is fast and decent hp, put some points in both. i just took lvl 150 on official pve server down with ca 300 darts and 257% longneck. bring everything 20% more than adviced here just in case. put see sleeping bag. once giga is down surround it with 15 wooden spikes but check giga torpor meanwhile, it starts dropping 400 per second. let it drop half then spam narcotics. you can dosm hundreds, check dododex and put more just calculate that 100 narc will up torpor by 4000 so u need it to be half or something to spam all narc in and then sit down and relax. if u have it surrounded with spikes. i put also thyla on aggressive to keep animals away from me, they will probably not attack wild giga, but you. i also bring wyvern and put it on agressive and in turret mode then it will not fly away. good luck!

Honestly I was so scared taming my first one yesterday and all you need is a good long neck rifle I used a mastercraft 190%, I used raw mutton in a preserving bin and carried about 700 narcotics but only feed him like 400. Easy giga tame

A lvl 68 with roughly 54k torpor need around 300+ tranq arrows from 179% mastercraft crossbow.

P.S : if you make a trap using metal dinosaur gate whether

it's |__| shape or \__/ shape, always give some distance between the placement of the gate or there will be a chance that the giga will glitch and just climb over the gate.

All I’m going to say is if you are using a crossbow is bring a spare cross in inventory and pack hundreds of tranqs I had to re-trap and shoot five times because I would run out of arrows or my crossbow would break, save yourself the trouble and prepare. If you have a mid check the narcotics.

One day I was playing a new server It was my first time playing ark so of course dumb old me spawned in the MIDDLE OF A FREAKING MOUNTAIN IN THE ARCTIC and thought it was a nice place. So I made tools and a campfire before dying to a saber tooth. So I went back TO THE SAME FREAKING PLACE and was hungry. So I bonked a mammoth. Little did I know I could’ve bonked penguins, INSTEAD OF BEING MAULED BY 15 MAMMOTHS. Try 3, STILL THE SAME FREAKING SPOT and I spawned on a giant mountain. So I was about to jump off to respawn somewhere when I saw A GIGA. I thought it was a cool T. Rex so I slid down and bonked him with a club I just crafted. Little did I know, that dang thing IS THE STRONGEST IN THE GAME. So I respawned, STILL IN THE FREAKING ARCTIC. I saw an iceberg with 3 allos on it and, dumb old me tried to tame them and I died. So I finally did it ONE MORE TIME. I bonked penguins, made a campfire and clothes, tools, and a big base. I finally started getting far when THE GIGA IS BACK AND ANGRY and ATE MY BASE, MY NEW PENGUIN, AND MY SABERTOOTH. Moral of the story: don’t live in the arctic. Ever.

USE SHOCKING TRANQ DARTS!!!!! It will take a while so be prepared to run out of darts.

Once knocked out, a simple trick is to wait for it to drop to about 1000 torpor and then spam bio toxin in its inventory. This way you can tame up to a level 36 with raw meat

Hello everyone! Mobile ark player here, I’ll recommend using metal gates of the largest size and getting at least three of them and once you lure a gigs with your tame you will set up the gates around the giga and then put up two metal gate doors at both ends then use a compound bow with Toxicant arrows (I’d recommend around 600-1000 of them) and shoot at the giga from a lil bit away and make sure not to be riding you dino while your doing so. Once the giga is knocked out get raw prime meat and store it in a refrigerator before you place a bed down and sleep to get the giga’s hunger down and save the meat. And then once you but the meat in the giga’s inventory it will most likely instantly tame.
