When taming I like to use a rineognatha because you can use weapons on it

The only real way to tame a giga is using a trap because missing one shot or letting run for even a bit too long can make you have to waste 10 more shots

How to tame a giga (The island map):

Bring:

-A lot of arrows or tranqulizer darts (Max lvl needs 853 tranq darts)

-Sooting balm (Recommended) (If possible bring a 15x or 10x sooting balm)

-Taming foods (Recommended its preferred kibble)

-A lot of Narotics/Biotoxin (For me I brought 200)

-1-2 Large bear traps (Optional)

-4-5 Metal Dino gateway (Optional)

Taming with trap:

Find a giga. They usually spawn on high mountains. Try finding them at the artic or Far's peak. Set your trap,Use 3 of your dino gateway and a large bear trap in the middle and make the trap like this: \_/ . Get the giga to aggro on you and lead it to the trap. Take your final dino gateway and close the trap. Now, Shoot it with arrows or tranq darts. When its' knocked out, Feed it the recommended sooting balm and kibble, or use meat if not possible. Keep an eye on its torpor and feed it bio toxin or narotics if necessary. Wait for a while and you'll get it. Make sure to protect it to while its being tamed! Goodluck, Players!

I haven't tamed one yet, but here's two ideas how to do it safely

1: Common Trap

Outrunning a giga on a mountain is near impossible ehile shooting tranqs, thankfully us human beings aren't stupid. Gather 4-6 Metal dino gates and either ride a dino and place them ehile giga is standing or lure it inside (suggested use beartrap to hold it in) afterwards, just fire away!

2. Cliff Hang

My original plan was to use a Tapajara and hang on a cliff while shooting, so when topor run occurs, I can grapple on it or use Quetzal trick to KO the giga. Not sure if this idea works, but worth a go if you don't have metal gates.

TAMING GOOD FOR DINGLE PLAYER

Quetzal Kibble or raw prime meat are literally your only hope, along with over 100 narcotics or bio toxins. If you have a soothingbalm, it'll definitely take care of timespending.

Get the high ground and dart it

When raiding, bring rock golem for soaking turrets, a giga for the enemy Dinos, a deanodon (it that how you spell it? It’s the healing pig) and a pleura for the structures.

Killing a wild giga with a tamed giga is suicidal, unless you own a max level pair with almost 300 armor value for the saddle and both are fully imprinted. I only recommend this method against low level gigas, around levels 1 to 5. Anything higher and you need to swarm them with fully imprinted high level gigas with better saddle armor. Many of them will still die, but they'll get the job done.

to tame a giga in ark mobile you need Quetz kibble.I recomend using prime meat if you dont have kibble... For knocking out I recomend using shocking arrovs they are made by using arrovs(normal) and bio tocin.

Never tame this thing without a trap and kibble.

Would recommended a quetzal drop ship to tame or kill for its maneuverability

Here’s an idea.

Pick a scene, prefably one were you can find a giga so maybe snow biome or maybe a Mounties area, dismount your giga and remove its saddle then remove your armour and shield and hold a wooden spear, get close to the giga so it looks down at you and have a friend take a photo

For a better effect build a small thatch house nearby

If you really want to feck some one up, dont tame it, lead a wild giga into the persons base, it has alot more health and damage.

I recommend having an Argo for a flier to get this guy. 10x soothing balm(you may not have it since wrong device). 20 - 50 large bear traps. For the tranquilizer to work and him not to wake up. Try shooting him with Tranq arrows when he’s down. 7 behemoth gateways. And lure him into the trap. Make sure he doesn’t get out of the bear traps. I recommend using 6 or 7 bows. If you liked the info. Hit the button facing the sky /\ If you disliked the info. Hit the button facing underground \/

Tamed using the metal gateway method w/ beartrap. Biotoxin is incredibly useful. I crypoded my equus to take with me in case I needed emergency narcotics. Traps are a must for solo players.

DO NOT use a tamed Giga to kill a wild Giga. Tamed Gigas gain a massive nerf to health and attack and lack the ability to use the gnashed debuff like the wild Gigas can. If high lvl, imprinted and with a high quality saddle, you might be able to take on a low lvl Wild however.

Treat Wild Gigas like bosses, use a well leveled and saddled army of tames specced into melee and HP. Wild Gigas have 80k HP and 500 base melee, for reference a base Rex has a mere 1.1k hp and 65 base melee. Alternatively a mother load of auto turrets with a ton of ammo protected by metal gateways can eventually kill a Giga.

Taming this is not easy better use smooting balm

Fun fact: on mobile, the giga is neutral to tames.

I found this out when i was trying to wipe out some guy's tames in my server with a wild giga but the giga just stood there, and just wandered.

it applies when you are riding mounts too (for example, quetzal, galliminus, equus, argentavis*)

*that one guy who said that their argy ran out of stamina and landed next to a giga, if you're on mobile, that's perfectly fine since the giga is neutral to tames.
