I tamed a giga for the sake of taming a giga and it came out of its sleep with over 100% melee damage, and it levels up like a normal Dino, damage wise. The output is insane. Don’t know about other people’s experience. Most of my gigas come out with like 40% melee, so this is new.

I noticed.......

It doesn't attack your raptor tame...so take your raptor and surround it with metal (sign board) 4-5 at least !!

For me, its not the taming part that is hard, its findinh one.

Anyways here how to tame one of these guys: prepare 4 metal gates (break stone), longneck rifle with tranq darts,a large bear trap, a 10x soothing balm (if on mobile), lot of biotoxins and lot of prime meats (if you dont have any kibbles).

Taming: these guys can be found in the mountains (luck isnt on my side), when you find one, make a uncompleted square (like this |_|) and put the large bear trap in the middle, then dismount near the beast then get back on your mount (must be using a flyer like pteranodon), even if you fly high it will still be aggroed on you, if you hit it with your ptera it only will aggro when your close to land. Then lure in it and it will get stuck for 5 seconds, then place the last gate behind.

Knocking out: If youre taming a low level like 30, get any balm (10x work better if you want it fast), it depends on your longneck rifle damage, if its like 355 it would take around 50-70 tranq darts, but id say to bring more incase. When shooting dont wait 5 seconds each, the torpor drains fast (as when its knocked out too) so youll just be wasting darts. Im tired so I wont continuing sadly. -CatLady

was flying to the arctic on my pteranodon, passed by somebody’s base when i saw a massive tail and flew down closer to investigate, a lvl 140 giga attacking the base and getting pelted with x seed turrets, i landed a bit further off and waited for the health to be at a manageable level to finish it off for exp. hopped off my pteranodon and it looked up and turned to me NEVER HAD SUCH A BAD HEARTATTACK IN ARK

How to get a giga in 8 steps

1. Get about 1k narcotics traps(for any levels giga)

2. Spot the big rex

3. Place a lot of narcotics traps in a row

4. Take an arentavis or a wyvern and agro him

5. Lead the giga in the traps

6. Put food in his inv.

7. Force him to eat narcotics when the torpor is low

8. Name your new giga

On Crystal Isles I mostly find gigas in the desert area of the map.

On Ragnarok they are mostly found in the highlands (the green patch on the NE of the map) But they can also ne found behind the murder snow area (closer to the West of the map but still in the middle) just found a lvl 130 today and I MIGHT tame it in the future. On the Island look on the mountain in the center of the map or od you are feelings extra ballsy you can look in the 2 mountains in the snow area. Stay safe and good luck. Survivor out.

This thing takes actually days to tame

If you have giga problems use a griffin they are the only flier that can allow you to equip weapons while riding so all you need to do is hover over it and tranq it from above I got a lvl 15 female with this tactic

Make sure to not take to much damage or ur own giga will kill you and everything around it be careful

Okay, I totally failed this giga tame. What did I do wrong?

Map: Extinction

Armor: Desert Cloth, backup fur armor just in case

Gear: ASCENDANT LONGNECK (there’s a spot near my base on CI where red drops spawn,) Shocking Tranq Darts (over 100,) Exceptional Kibble to tame.

Creature: Rock Drake, level 150, almost 14k health and around 1800 stam (I’m on singleplayer btw)

Target: Giga, lvl 16

It gets stuck on a cliff where nothing spawns and I start pounding in the darts. It starts to run? 🤔 Off the cliff and starts attacking everything. I get closer, and in less than a minute destroys 3/4 of my Drake’s health. I check it’s torpor (I’ve probably piled in over 30 darts) and it says: 2k out of 19k. I leave.

What should I do next time. Should I trap it (I know the trap,) or tame it on another map where it’s safer?

Currently got a lvl 140 in a 4 metal doorframe high with 3 high with ramps tranqed by longneck and an ovis standing by

First you need 6 metal foundations, double door frames, triangle Sloped ceilings and two thatch foundations

Place one triangle foundation and continue with one side two thatch foundations and place the next triangle foundation and pick up the thatch foundations repeat this until you reach where you started the first triangle foundation after that place the six double doorframes (outer part) then place the triangle sloped ceilings facing towards the middle

Easy, and its antidirectional! Once the giga hops in it cannot get out!

Tame a low level female and a high level male if you have a cloning chamber because you can clone females for breeding cheap my level 360 male breeds with level 30 female clones

killing 3 deathworms got me 51 lvls, on a fresh tame 150 giga. noice
