Getting a strong giga is realistically easy through breeding but muts are 10x harder due to the spawnrates still if u managed to get your hands on a high level female (145-150) and u got a low level male, you can at least redo the giga process by breed until u get desired levels

honestly not worth taming anymore besides the novelty of having one. they harvest a lot of meat but tamed gigas have HORRIBLE stats so just donβt bother. get a carcha instead for a million reasons. Better damage; better health, better mechanics, cooler appearance, harder, better, faster, stronger.

But most importantly

The giga can pierce wild creature's defenses so for example they ignore doed's 90% damage reduction when balled up.
You can also use this to kill titanosaurs since they also have a 90% damage reduction if you have a good enough saddle and melee damage
WILD = 80,000 hp
TAMED = 17,000 hp
WILD = 100% melee damage (500 damage per hit)
TAMED = 20% melee damage (100 damage per hit)

DISCLAIMER: IF YOU ARE ON ANY OTHER PLATFORM BESIDES OLD MOBILE IGNORE THIS TIP.
On old mobile these things are neutral to all tames, meaning that if you try to lure a giga to a rando's base to be evil and they have all their tames set to passive, then that's not gonna do anything unless you manually aggro the giga then tank each hit with your tame and the dude's tames in the giga's hitbox until something dies.
This also means that you can easily trap a giga by using a medium sized mount, equipping 4 metal dino gates in your hotbar, then go up to the giga and quickly place the gates when it stops moving. There exists a video somewhere on the ark mobile discord of me doing this with a pachy.
This also applies to rexes
However if you try this on any other platform including ark use you and your tame will almost certainly die as unlike old mobile wild gigas WILL always be aggressive to all tames.
Step 1: Get on Giga
Step 2: Eat rare flower
Step 3: Prosper
