What is a gasbags used for? gasbags battling strategies in ARK: Survival Evolved.
If you wanna fly longer on these bad boys upgrade oxygen
Awesome for packing resorces and they are fast too the only down side is that u need to stop to get air that way u can float faster and also if u jump then go forward then use the gas boost u can float faster and u won't have to worry about fall dmg.
Idk why no one wrote this but if they have a slight bit of gas in em they will take reduced fall damge so when your flying keep a bit of gas and fall down you wont feel a thing
This is the only flier that can be used on genisis. So if the amazingly fast bloodstalker is not your ideal transport, then this beanbag-balloon-bug is perfect for a slow paced surviver.
If you inflate them, they take significantly less damage, and can be used for soaking. Then once you soak the base, you can use their excellent weight to pack all their stuff into. Itβs one of my favorite soakers. Only downside is that their blue underbellies take 3x more damage if they get hit there, so it isnβt recommended to drop gasbags on someoneβs base as they will shoot itβs stomach
This mule falls at uncontrollable rates if you pull out your map. R.I.P. Hayseed
They do still take fall damage, I learned the hard way
So bc most comments are from pve players here a pvp tip use them for soaking have them mate boosted veggie cakes yuty roar a deadon on passive healing and a good saddle no heavie or auto will stay in your way with a good gasbag and a food stat deadon
If you're being raided by one of these, try to get to its head and shoot it, it will rapidly deflate and lose Oxygen and then be susceptible to turret damage. Get shredded!
They can inflate and then they can do three things, do a huge jump that will deflate them, float/glide, and do a knockback attack that is similar to the diplodocus' only attack. They can also seat more than one person at a time
Put this on a quetzal platform and load it up with weight and the quetz canβt feel the weight. Gasbags is the only tame that doesnβt add weight to a quetzal platform when standing on it.
Farm lamps with doed on quetz and have your rider load the goods onto the gasbags.

If you have a gasbags that has a lot of weight but you want more try a delivery crate! It can carry 5k weight but if you crash land it will drop in a bag so you might want some oxygen too.
Keeping oxygen in reserve prevents fall damage
Be careful they take fall damage.Thr more you ascend or use air control, the more air you lose, thus it will hit the ground and die. You have been warned. . .
YOU NEED TO TRANSFER THESE GUYS ON GENNIS
These guy are like the only flyer you can use on gennis

Inhale to increase damage resistance, get a decent level saddle, back up slowly into turrets, tank all of the enemy's turrets
To fly well just look in the detection you want to go fly and don't move let it fly on its own it will go down safely
If pure tanking power is tanking into account, this thing is second to none. Just like Rock Elementals, the Gasbags has a 80% damage reduction from almost everything (as long as it is at least partly inflated). The Gasbags, however, is much easier to tame, can be bred and has a saddle which is not that hard to find at all. Their smaller hitbox is welcome when using Velonasaurs and guns from behind them as well.
The only downside is their low damage, and also that they can't damage stone (and turrets), so don't expect to raid entire bases with it alone.
When damaged, a bit of gas will escape, so unmounted ones might find themselves taking full damage after a while. If mounting is not a option, be sure to put it on Neutral from time to time so it will inflate by itself as part of the attack behavior.

If you are on extinction, you need this animal late-game. Snag an anky, or if you have genesis, Get a magmasaur. Cryo it, then empty your inventory of everything but what you need. (Bring a glider or parachute for emergency landings. Tek boots work too.) then fly around on the gasbags, then when you find a good metal and/or obsidian node land, uncryopod the anky/magmasaur, then harvest the node. Cryo the anky/magmasaur again, then load the heavy resources into the gasbags. Repeat for crystal, metal, obsidian, wood, or even element dust, then when the gasbagsβ weight is at about 85% capacity, fly home and drop off the resources wherever you want them. Repeat this whole process as often as you want for MASSIVE quantities of resources. I got 3000 metal ingots with a 4000 weight gasbags, a 800% melee anky, and some gas with and industrial forge. All in under half an hour!
They do take fall damage so be careful of how high you go.
