Having trouble feeding the ravenous appetite of this glorified pigeon? Ovis are the answer! On Fjordur, large flocks of Ovis will sometimes spawn on the plateau west of the Redwoods (but beware, sometimes Carcha and Gigas will too!), and taming these sheep is a piece of cake— Sweet Vegetable Cake, to be exact!

Even a handful of high-health Ovis will make taming Fjordhawks a breeze, because the higher the health of an Ovis, the longer they’ll feed a Fjordhawk. Just make sure you have a campfire ready, because once you tame your hawk, they’re going to be carrying a LOT of raw mutton.

Once a fjordhawk starts feeding, a net gun will cause loss of taming.

Wyvern fire is a good way to kill things and still have them count for fjordhawk taming even though you’re on a mount! Make sure to use your sanguine elixir too.

If your server lets you, try placing a wooden cage over one of these guys when it lands to eat, and then dragging bodies to it and holding them up against the bars- that’s how I got my first.

Built a large kill room and managed to get a hawk stuck in it and then brought her 20 parasaurs and phiomias I had managed to tame. Worked pretty well.

Eat Alpha is useless. Alpha or Normal Raptor give same food

Kill any animal near the one you want then when he's done eating it put a tent over him go in side throw down a sheep at a time killing it and presto you have a tame

These guys are a passive tame (a pain in the ass too). It’ll follow you around, and you have to go on a killing spree. Kill any dinos you find and let the hawk harvest it. Keep doing this until the tame is finished.

If you are on another animal while it's eating it won't count toward its taming meter. Also make sure you get a good distance from it before you start killing something else cause if anything hits it its meter goes back down to 0

If you wanna tame a nice low level hawk early game, grab four or five standing torches, some spark powder, and several dozen fertilized dodo eggs. Locate the hawk, clear the area so you're not interrupted, hatch a ton of dodos at a time, and then sacrifice them to the hawk.

Really simple to tame, if you’re in an area with lots of other dinos. Simply kill all the dinos and then dismount. They will eat the bodies and tame. Pretty easy. If there are multiple which there probably are, you can just kill enough dinos to tame them all, or put the one you want in a cage and kill or lead away the others. Ovis work best, phiomia second. 🤞 good luck. But you probably don’t need good luck to tame it.

Since Rock Golems have been patched, best method is the tame/Breed Ovis and level them as much as you can into health. Higher the level the better.

The low levels are easy but you should kill the levels you don't want because the can steal your Dino you killed for the on you wanted

So I tried using the tamed Ovis trick, but for some reason even after killing my “sacrificial lamb”, none of the Fjordhawks would go for it. Though through a test, they went for the wild ones instead. Any thoughts? (This is on Xbox console btw).

These are pretty hard to tame but if you bring a lot of ovis, you can kill them and let the fjordur hawk eat it. Ovis are the best creature to use for this tame.

Steal the eggs it would make sense tho

Keep the ones you want to tame alive and kill others because it will take you too much time to tame the one you want because others are eating corpses.
