As a shoulder pet, it can return your death cache, retrieve nearby item bags, scout ahead, and warn of injured creatures or danger. These opportunistic scavengers usually avoid healthy survivors but may attack the weakened, so watch for circling hawks and stay alert to nearby predators. If one carries away your belongings after your death, track and defeat it to recover them.
