Taming & KO Tips

How do I tame a ferox? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a ferox.
IF YOU TAME HIM HE WILL FOLLOW YOU AROUND IF YOU HAVE ELMENT.LOST ONE OF MY HIGH LEVEL ONES TO THIS.
WARNING FOR ANYONE TRYING TO TAME THEM IN “Search the Fro-Zone” mission cave! If you try to tame them in the cave then they can glitch through the map and you’ll loose them. You are better off searching for them in the eastern arctic biome than to risk loosing all of your element.
Best way to tame it is with the net gun. Feed it element while it's small and net it as soon as its big. The net will immobilize it till it's small again. Just make sure to net it when its fully grown and about to move. Rinse and repeat till tamed.
Use grapple hooks to only drop down for feeds cause if you’re down there on the ground when he rages he’ll mess you up right quick
You are going to need to need 15+ element to tame a Ferrox. Even if you play on an insta tame, they don’t insta tame. Make sure after you tame one that you have a steady supply of element to feed it so it can be a huge beast.
It says it’s a shoulder pet but you can ride it... interesting...
Track mission called searching the fro-zone and u find a cave full of them
The easiest way to take them is by tracking the mission "Searching the Frozone" which will bring you to a cave that is usually full of them. Buy 2 element feed it to one and grapple to the ceiling.
Found a level 300 on fjordur and finished taming at 450
Hey Survivors! Just as a quick tip for you when you are trying to tame a Ferox, DO NOT USE A TEK SHIELD! It will deal the same amount of damage that the Ferox is (trying) to deal to you but instead hurts itself. AKA: It will die from the tek shield… Hope this was helpful!
Find a high lvled one, equip a few stacks of bolas.
Let it walk up n feed it element, you'll need roughly 20 element per 150 ferox, when it's done transforming, bola it right away, the bola will last throughout the whole transformation and when it's over you can feed it again, repeat til its tamed, be aware of carnivores around you tho, there you go, an supereasy way to get yourself the new op dino. Thumbs up folks!
1. You need to feed it element to Tame it. The first time is easy. Wait for it to do AND FINISH its emote and then feed it.
2. Survive it's enlarged form (it could be useful to trap it.)
3. Once it transforms back it will lay on the ground for a bit use that to get DISTANCE to it. It should run towards you for a bit don't stand right next to it. My testing proofed that staying away from it after it shrinks and letting it walk towards you greatly increases the chance for it to make it's emote right away which is what you need to wait for otherwise you will waist one element.
4. (just in case step) if it walks up on you and doesn't do the emote it will look at you for a moment and then run away. Once it runs away immediately run up to it and feed it element. That has the same effect as it doing the emote.
With the new Taming hud menu, Taming process can only be seen when it is small and everytime it transforms from small to big and big to small the marker is automatically removed.
Ok so the max amount of element that you need is a liar. You need at least 15 element per ferox. And you have to try and survive it’s meltdowns. If you have REALLY good flak armour then you should be fine
Idk if it was my map settings but it's pretty hard you need alot of element, me and my brother tried with like 25 element and we only got like 10% tamed we also got almost absolutely murdered, this is why you don't do drugs kids:)
Go to extinction with a doedic, farm lights for dust. Transfer to genesis, convert dust to element. You only need to use one grapple hook. If in the cave. You can reel or far enough to never have to let go
I cannot find them on lost island help??????
Go up to it and shove element up it's but a few times then BOOM it's all yours to shove more element up it's butt to make it Godzilla
So I have my taming stats very messed up so things tame nearly instantly but when I found this thing on Fjordur I discovered now matter how fudged up you taming settings are this thing still took me an half and hour to tame a level 65. Very weird.
You need grapple hooks or high stamina and movement speed
It's more like 18 to 20 element to tame a 150 and for anyone who wants to know 18 ele to breed females and on 1x gestation is 10 hrs welcome
