To tame a ferox while you have no element, find a blizzard in a snow biome, then, go to the forest biomes before the blizzard ends to check what type of weather it is out of the snow biome. Element on lost island is made from refining element dust from killing tek dinosaurs

Feed them element and fly up wait until they go small again then do it again if it's not tamed.

In the G2 map you can use these to preserve mutton and prime meat a bit, as they can kill fairly well and when devolved they can sit on your shoulder. Use your exo suit to move around since you’re likely to be encumbered.

These guys don’t take fall damage in its larger form and can climb walls so they are a good Dino in a mountain landscape

WARNING FOR ANYONE TRYING TO TAME THEM IN “Search the Fro-Zone” mission cave! If you try to tame them in the cave then they can glitch through the map and you’ll loose them. You are better off searching for them in the eastern arctic biome than to risk loosing all of your element.

Best way to tame it is with the net gun. Feed it element while it's small and net it as soon as its big. The net will immobilize it till it's small again. Just make sure to net it when its fully grown and about to move. Rinse and repeat till tamed.

Use grapple hooks to only drop down for feeds cause if you’re down there on the ground when he rages he’ll mess you up right quick

You are going to need to need 15+ element to tame a Ferrox. Even if you play on an insta tame, they don’t insta tame. Make sure after you tame one that you have a steady supply of element to feed it so it can be a huge beast.

So when they tame out the levels wont be applied unless you cryo and uncryo it. However I found that when if I rode my ferox and gained it up before cryoing it, it retained its increased stats but stayed at the lower level

It says it’s a shoulder pet but you can ride it... interesting...

Watch out once thrown off you shoulder they may wander without wandering turned on. I had tamed a 150 and left it in my base it started to run and now it’s gone...

Track mission called searching the fro-zone and u find a cave full of them

The easiest way to take them is by tracking the mission "Searching the Frozone" which will bring you to a cave that is usually full of them. Buy 2 element feed it to one and grapple to the ceiling.

Found a level 300 on fjordur and finished taming at 450

Hey Survivors! Just as a quick tip for you when you are trying to tame a Ferox, DO NOT USE A TEK SHIELD! It will deal the same amount of damage that the Ferox is (trying) to deal to you but instead hurts itself. AKA: It will die from the tek shield… Hope this was helpful!
